His leg pressed against mine. We were crammed into two seats on a commuter jet between Dallas and Peoria, Ill. It was tight. I didn’t think much of it. I moved my leg, resituated myself. He moved his foot back into his space. Weird. But the guy had to be in his 70s.

@plowwife agree 110%!!! We are blessed to be a farm family - which means we are all in it together. I know everyone is wired different, but I love harvest - and to have everyone in the same field - doesn’t happen as often as I wish - but… truly blessed moments!!

Maybe an unpopular opinion but I hate the “farmwife widow” syndrome and attitude!!

@Storm5farms @ChannelSeed @ChannelSeedNIL I noticed ear leaves turning brown on one side a few weeks ago. The leaf was ripped a little at the collar, and then the song “Fat Bottomed Girls” started playing in my head😂😂 I’m ok w thinking in song at times😊 Nice ears!!!

@jasonlcvcmn Absolutely awesome!!! Lowest stave of the barrel! And…. The fertility deltas are at least showing same trend we have been seeing in the past two dry years. Nice!!!

@cf_farms7 I have a Burrus one for US 13, one of the first widespread double cross hybrids in the 1930s. It’s in my top 5 favorites. And the DEKALB ones that list the # research sites by states - also in top 5😊🌽

There is always something to be thankful for. 3 1/2 weeks ago I was involved in a farm accident where I was accidentally ran over by a tractor as we were doing some work to it in the field. It could have been a lot worse. I do have my days, not going to lie, but I am still here

@cf_farms7 Having them in the cab, in the truck, in the kitchen, in the side by side, - anywhere with their family during harvest is a happy place! That not the short straw - that’s the jackpot! You are doing great things for them by experiences, responsibilities and relationships. IMO 😊

Full cab = full heart. Let’s hear it for the farm kids, they get the lesser end of the stick during busy seasons. I always feel guilty, but them seeing us work so hard is probably a valuable life lesson. Either way, forever grateful for my kids. Farm kids really are amazing!

Spending some time on white dirt today to see who is tough enough to thrive there. Always fun to see the different reactions by hybrid.

Tuesday was a day of spider mites. Beans AND CORN! Check out my hat. That’s what happens when you walk through a field of corn with mites from top to bottom. Just because you’ve gotten some rains, it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re done…

Fun fact...each corn tassel may create from 2 to 25 million pollen grains. Mid 80* temperatures is ideal for pollination. #Thinkburrus

Seems early for NIL, but found a CRW pupa while digging roots. Years like this it’s not uncommon to see these earlier than normal. Still though, lots of smaller larvae still, and lots of feeding to go.

After seeing @talkingrootworm post on volunteer corn I decided to dig one myself to look for CRW larvae. Pretty sure these guys are already pupa stage!

Wall at the shop on the farm, my dad started putting the signs up after I was able to get him the large Pioneer sign about 14 years ago, (center piece) a lot of brands, many that have changed and few that haven’t….this is some of the seed history what will the future bring…
