Alexi pal…are you aware how utterly disconnected from 90% of fans your response is? You are basically saying this WC is reserved for the wealthiest 5-10% of the population. How does that possibly help grow the game in the US? It’s a recipe for half empty stadiums and people turning off from the entire event. And just to be clear, I’m someone who IS able to pay more for a ticket and have done so!

@AlexiLalas That is objectively true, but it's a departure from the traditions of the sport. Football is a working-class sport at its core, so tickets should be hard to get but easy to afford. The Americanization of the global game to sell tickets based on supply and demand is truly sad.

@AlexiLalas Just checked yesterday. $2,400 for one ticket for Argentina vs Algeria. It's more cost effective to spend that money on some meat to grill and watch all of the games on t.v. and still have money left over.
