The opinionated Black woman ~ Aunty
A Labor senator says Australians are “drowning” in counter-narratives against climate change ideology and has asked the media watchdog to track the root cause. Why? Because most of us remember as kids having 50 degree days in the shade and having our thongs melt on the road!

@ausvstheagenda As a parent that tried to ban social media I think your barking up the wrong tree, you are better off educating your children on the dangers of social media and build confidence and self-esteem so that they have the strength and conviction to stand up for whats right.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has vowed not to water down the social media ban under any circumstances, saying he wants to "give parents confidence their children are safe" and that "the world is watching" to see if it works.

Australia happily voted in Abbott and Morrison; they will have no issue with Dutton either. It's about 50/50 on the TPP, give or take a point on either side; this is the metric that forms government. It's close. The media narrative right now is 60 LNP to 40 ALP. In modern politics, a week is a long time; anything can happen between now and the election.

Anti-Semitism has surged over 700% in Australia—it should never have come to this. When vile acts unfolded at the Sydney Opera House, strong leadership could have stopped the spread of hate. Instead, Australians were met with weakness from the Prime Minister.

We’re finishing the NBN and making sure it stays in public hands 🙌 A bad internet connection impacts every day life, and Australians in regional areas, like here in the Shoalhaven, know this first hand. With many people still stuck on copper without access have access to an upgraded fibre NBN. That’s why we’re finishing it. Because every Australian family and business deserves access to high speed internet at an affordable price. When we say building Australia’s future, we mean in every part of the country.

@ChambersDcc00 @TeacherJLC @Ausbobsmit @PeterDutton_MP That's interesting do you have proof because I'd like to learn more. I'm a bit disillusioned by the whole system because it doesn't feel like a free market where companies are competing with each other, more like they are colluding to pump up profits.

This is what Dutton derangement syndrome looks like. I don't trust Dutton and I don't trust Albo either. Both Labor and Liberals have had the opportunity to make Australia an awesome place to live. But the don't! Sick of the blame game vote for change!

The UN: "The World Meteorological Organisation today confirmed that... 2024 was the warmest year on record." "It also said that the past 10 years, from 2015 to 2024, were the 10 warmest years on record." Do you believe a single word of what he said? 🤔

A friend of mine has been skipping meals, because the cost of food, and just about everything else is too high. He has a good job and a young family, but they’re at breaking point. Their mortgage payments have doubled for the same house. The power bill has gone up – for the same power. The cost of fuel has gone up – for the same fuel. But worst of all, the grocery bill seems to be higher every month, as Albanese tells them he has beaten inflation. Nobody is buying it. The cost of everything is just too high. Wages, the pension, and small business just can’t keep up. It is like running on a treadmill set to high, on the steep incline. A lot of sweat and no forward progress. It is a tragedy. Too many people wake up in the morning and wonder how they are going to eat today. If you listen to our politicians, it seems as though they are busy fighting over things that just don’t matter. The problem is simple. The solutions are not that complicated. We just have to stop focussing on the wrong things. When I first started driving, I very quickly learned that the steering wheel had a way of pointing in the direction I was looking, no matter how hard I tried to look left and hold straight, slowly but surely, I would steer toward my gaze. It was involuntary. Business is the same, you achieve the goals you focus on. Good simple goals are as important as hard work. I think we have to simplify the conversation here. Because in truth, the economy is not rocket science. It is just simple supply and demand. If your goal is cheaper groceries, focus on making groceries cheaper. A simple input to all groceries is the cost of fuel. So let’s just focus on what the government can do to get the cost of fuel down. Simple solution - scrap the fuel excise. It was supposed to be used on the roads, it isn’t. It is now helping fund a foreign football team, or the Voice referendum or other expensive flights of fancy. So, scrap it. It will not only get the price of groceries down faster than anything else. It will get the cost of everything down. Instead of focusing on complex problems - one group of people at the expense of another - why not just do the simple things that makes all of our lives a bit easier. Make it easier for families to eat and eat well. When politicians and the media talk about anything other than the big simple problems, they are just making everything worse. It’s just common sense. I just want Australia back.
