I see what you’re saying. For games themselves, there will be no third party. Sharing/Transferring will be native to the platform. Just like Nintendo. Not having a third party in the literal point. Epic Games + Ubisoft Connect will have their own structure for in-game item license transfers (skins, weapons, etc) So a company like GameStop, would be the absolute last entity to be able to even get involved in any of this. The “Centralized Platform” IS Microsoft-Xbox, Sony-PlayStation, and Nintendo. If you play epic games, and ubisoft games, and square enix games - their native systems will be accessible In-Game, or via the Xbox / PlayStation UI (IF they allow that - it’s less likely for Square Enix because they handle everything for their games on their own platform via app and browser) The explicit point of Digital Licenses, and Digital License Transfers, is to remove a third party. This is the entire point.

@eksforos @Daytona_520 @gamestop You must have missed the “create a platform” part. There needs to be a central platform to facilitate keys across devs and publishers. Yes, publishers have control over what is shared, but if there is no platform to facilitate the trades, there’s no point for consumers to buy in.

Hey @gamestop, here’s how you save your company & become the biggest name in gaming for the future: Create a platform that lets consumers trade their game keys / licenses like we can used games. Split the value between consumer & publisher & you take a cut / fee. You’re welcome

@eksforos @RetroGamerKong I will stop buying games for the ps5 the moment they stop releasing the games I want in a disc. I will not buy digital games. That is where I stand, then I will switch to nintendo or xbox, whoever keeps selling what I want to buy.

The point is to make Sony backtrack the killing of physical games. As different as our approach and POV may be, our goal is still the same.

I won’t believe this until we get solid evidence. There’s a reason why @XBOX hasn’t made a statement about what @PlayStation has done. It’s sort of obvious to me that either Xbox doesn’t want to make any announcements because they’re also abandoning physical releases or they’re planned a major war against PlayStation and waiting for the right moment to drop a bomb.
