I am truly appalled at the video posted by Israeli Cabinet Minister Ben-Gvir taunting those involved in the Global Sumud Flotilla. This violates the most basic standards of respect and dignity in the way people should be treated. We are in touch with the families of a number of British nationals involved to provide them with consular support. We have demanded an explanation from the Israeli authorities and made clear their obligations to protect the rights of our citizens and all those involved.

The only stretch of river graded as ‘Good’ is at Friars Meadow, Sudbury yet from 13th March to the 13th April Anglian Water dumped sewage into Friars Meadow nonstop 24 hours a day for 31 days straight. If you went swimming there during the Easter holidays you were probably swimming in human waste but none of it shows in the data because the EA don’t even bother testing until the middle of May. PS the EA don’t actually test any bathing site in the country for most of the year 7 and a half months in fact. I'd never seen Devil Wears Prada but watched it last week to go to the sequel tonight. Both 7/10. First one is sharper but the sequel knows it's playing to a home crowd and can wallow a bit. Good to see Hathaway back at it. Streep excellent obvs. I enjoyed both these films 🎥

I watched the Coral documentary on Prime for £3.99 and really enjoyed it. Nicely done and fascinating. Jacqueline is my favourite song. Last year the night porter knocked on my door at 4am when I played it 20 times running in my Torremolinos hotel. I'm too old for such behaviour.

Rental Family is unmissable. Brendan Fraser as a big American dude getting drawn into a slice of complex Japanese manners. I wondered if this is all actually possible in Japanese culture or it's a total invention/exaggeration. Everyone in this plays it beautifully. Lovely 9/10 🎥

Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die made me think of "Don't Look Up" ... an under appreciated roller coaster attempt to focus minds. IMO DLU is better. Love Sam Rockwell but I think he's slightly miscast. Juno Temple fantastic as ever. Enjoyed it but didn't really believe in it 7/10🎥

I wouldn't watch The Magic Faraway Tree but I was spellbound by these books as a kid. I enjoyed it a lot. It's an old fashioned Christmas Day family TV film. Echoes of Hitchhikers Guide, Monty Python, Paddington, Time Bandits. Very English. I wanted more of the Worlds tho 8/10 🎥

The Hail Mary Project is a thing of beauty. Lives in a difficult patch of being a kind of mystery/existential space flick (I like these) but somehow keeps it light without becoming ET. I think the balance is maintained because Ryan Gosling is perfectly cast. Great music 8.5/10🎥
