86 families have no childcare from this week @Edinburgh_CC @ELCScotGov @NatalieDon_ , 86 families who’s parents cannot go to work as they require flexible childcare.

@NatalieDon_ what are you going to do re claylands nursery closing on Wednesday due to Edinburgh council not Giving cross boundary funding. This is a disgrace and scot gov has nothing about it. Families with no childcare and no where to go!

@willie_rennie the PVI sector appreciate you highlighting these issues. The sector needs all the support it can get just so it can have equity and equality with council-run nurseries. The issue is clear...why are they constantly beating around the bush.

Unfair funding means that private and voluntary nurseries can't pay the wages needed to compete with council-run nurseries for more experienced staff. Humza Yousaf promised to fix this in his first budget, but hasn't lived up to that promise.

Could all our parents follow @2020Together on Twitter to find out more about the fight the private sector are going through to gain equal funding for our children? At present we care for over 30% of the children for 20% funding. Whilst the rest is used to raise LA salaries.

@elc1140 Did you know that the Private Nursery Sector are haemorrhaging staff to public sector due to inequality of funding? @COSLA_CYP back room deals are driving small businesses into the ground. 30% of eligible children receive 20% of the funding. ALL children deserve the best!!
