@evtech99 @Hilbe A bit misleading to call that "customer deliveries" then.

@phani26781867 @KevinMelnuk @EvJetty_blogy Could be the case. It looks like the day of the week matters - Friday is usually the day to burn the call option buyers. On the earnings week people make it a binary event and get burned by shorts who sold them the calls. Harder to do for another stock, easier on RIVN.

@NightRider1023 @Rivian_DD Going expensive into the earnings or a key event like R2 production start means sell. Going cheap into the earnings means buy. The lower the price, the bigger the swing up is probable. Higher price = there is mounting pressure to sell the news.

@NightRider1023 @Rivian_DD I think RIVN is much less about the fundamentals and much more about technical setup. For Q1 earnings stock was at $14 and it has grown 28% the next day. This time heading into the earnings it was not that cheap. Looks like stock is driven by traders & shorts and not long term.

@dare_darr3n @Rivian_DD @KevinMelnuk Markets can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent. Also now everyone's busy with Intel, Caterpillar, Micron, and bunch of other stocks that grow much faster.

@Rivian_DD More details about the night shift for R2 and opening the configurator would be more meaningful than all these numbers for Q1. So far, market was not impressed.

Such a wild thing that Meta is being punished for their strategy already 10th time and Google is being rewarded right after the earnings report. Market logic - Google's strategy has a brighter future. And yet it is always Meta's revenue growth beating Google's by 50%: +33% for Meta vs 20% for Google. So where is the bright future for Google, if Meta is closing the gap?

In Intelligent Investor Graham asks the reader to imagine that they are one of the two owners of a business, along with a partner called Mr. Market. The partner frequently offers to sell their share of the business or to buy the reader's share. Mr. Market is what today would be called manic-depressive, with their estimate of the business's value going from very pessimistic to wildly optimistic. $META stock move today is a great example of Graham's concept.

They have a target of 22k R2s for 2026. Which means on average it's 60+ a day. This means the throughput exiting the year is probably going to be 120+ a day, if they want to hit their 2026 target. So if you are 1 week ahead of schedule, that's almost 1000 more cars. 2 weeks ahead of schedule that's 2000 more cars. A 5% to 10% more cars produced will change a lot of fundamentals. Do you think the nigh shift for R2 = guidance update coming?

@KevinMelnuk Can CEO deliberately act to lower the price of their stock? Don't they have any duty to act in the best interests of the investors?

@KevinMelnuk Great summary! Some Rivian’s peers in the autos segment have already reported their Q1 results. Autoliv delivered YoY revenue growth of 7%, and Mobileye reported revenues up 27.4%. Autoliv traded up 9% following the results while Mobileye was also up 17%.

$RIVN stock has popped 20%+ the last two earnings reports (of course only to fade weeks after the 2-10 day run up). Catalysts then: - Margins improving on R1 - Controlling operating expenses - R2 coming closer to production - AI day Now: - R2 production has started and is ramping up - R1 demand is strong from the Q1 delivery report, pricing likely is up with more high end variants and no more standard range - Gross margin will have improved as COGS declined (better supplier pricing) - All prior catalysts have only improved or accelerated Others: - JV passed winter testing unlocking $1 B from VW to come Q2/Q3 - Software and service revenue may exceed $500 million for Q1, growing fast with good margins - Big autonomy update - Rivian assistant coming early 2026, that’s now so get going Rivian with that update - R2 ramp going better than expected and Rivian could raise guidance to 70,000+ vehicles for 2026 - Accounting for $350 million from JV progress…may impact gross margins or EPS depending on how it’s accounted for - Tariff refund Company is quietly doing well, everyone doubts them, but lots of good catalysts. I’d love to see management be a little more upbeat and boastful about R2, demand, their ramp, raise guidance, etc. it’s time to shine. To date, not a worthwhile investment. Do something… $RIVN
