I enjoyed the Ferrari fight, and these cars seem to be able to follow closer than last gen. But the fact that overtakes into corners are a thing of the past is really sad. Also qualifying is boring as he’ll now. #f1

@kpmdev Might grow on me, but I’m firmly in the ”too artificial” camp for now. I want drivers to fight for the corners and not just push a button to pass.

haha i honestly like the new regulation a lot. requires a lot more awareness and brain usage by the drivers + adds a ton of strategy depth to it. also appreciate the slower entry speed these cars demand so we don't get insane race to the apex first situations. it's been fun watching their telemetry managing all the extra torque on corner exit that comes from the electric motor. dirty air being less of a factor without the ground effects from last regulation is leading to better battles too. overall 10/10 from me so far but we'll see as the season progresses.

Feel confident F1 will change the engines after Suzuka. This is not gonna work.

@eldh i think drivers will complain about a different car like they do every regulation change for awhile until they get used to it.

@RobertJBye Not necessarily, since you won't need to be harvesting energy on the straights. And hopefully it can make the racing more natural, so we get late braking overtakes & fast cornering instead of boost button pass-by:s.

@eldh True, but then it’s just even slower 😳

@RobertJBye What they talked about is lowering the energy output to 200kW, to prevent running out of energy & having to harvest so aggressively.

@eldh I don’t think that’s possible due to the budget caps and sheer engineering work needed to do that. I can’t see these regs lasting long though.

@ajambrosino @lennysan We allow users to pick specific code highlighting themes in Linear as well. Plays pretty well with the approach we use for the rest of the app.

my preference is to do what linear does and what @eldh spent a lot of time on— a system that is expressive with a few base colors and contrast sliders. but I am also empathetic to the fact people love their full VSCode themes and want to be able to make tiny tweaks (and because we built the app on our extension’s codebase, all components do use semantically correct VSCode theme tokens) Just thinking out loud here. The app is somewhat caught between the IDE world and the world of Linear-like things. We like our base themes, which are pretty neutral compared to Claude. But some want changes! anyway….

I love and use the Codex desktop app daily, but something about the Claude Code UX just feels so much more pleasant to use. The softer colors, the font, the animations. The personality. You wouldn't expect these things to matter in a CLI'ish experience, but they do.

Seems clear to me that an easy-to-spin-up remote dev environment that's accessible to both agents & humans is where we're headed. Probably possible but too hard to set up already. Who's making this easy?

Which things will ai agents still struggle with a year from now? (Especially would appreciate responses from the ai-pilled croowd.)
