@secretclubprov The well run proprietary venues are tapping into the wider community and the catering is a welcoming place for everyone as well as an expanding leisure venue. The traditional model has been broken since the drink drive laws changed and is mostly broken.

If your “working man’s” UK golf club was to cut the catering at your club and invest the £50k plus in the course instead would you see this as a positive ?

Tiger's career make-rate from 7'0" to 8'11" is 52%. The best player golf has ever known missed 48% of his putts from that range. Yet some mid-handicap players think they should rarely miss an 8-footer. 🤷 #ManageYourExpectations

My play is well dodgy but I have played a few of the courses same tees and pins the day after and not disgraced myself. A few birdies a few triple bogies. It’s losing the ball that does you in especially in that rough.
