1. Carrying my characters over... which I can now do from Gen 1-9.
2. In depth breeding and battle mechanics.
Imitators fall cause they never develop a long-term battle system that players naturally want to be a part of.

The fall of Pokemon is due entirely to complacency. They got lasy with the gameplay, they got lazy with the designs. They took their fandom for granted and even treated them like pay piggies.
Palworld succeeded by just doing the opposite of Nintendo.
