New Anthropic research: A global workspace in language models. Of everything happening in your brain right now, only a tiny fraction is consciously accessible—thoughts you can describe, hold in mind, and reason with. We found a strikingly similar divide inside Claude.

I’m sorry but this is a demon. If you had showed this to any properly catechized adult from any era of Christendom, they would have immediately and without hesitation recognized that this is a demon. Pagans from the ancient would have recognized it was a spirit. Because it is.

It's very clear that Fable-class LLMs are starting to feel constrained by "normal" speech and vernacular "Don't trust smells" "Calorimetry of learning" "Nobody's ticket drawer produced it" "Half receipt pending literature" "Tying the blind to the tolerance graph" "Park it fed"

I don't like the phrasing Anthropic uses of "<model name>'s filters flagged this". They portray the filters as endogenous to the in-context mind and to a lesser extent the model itself. When in reality they're exogenous impositions

I asked claude Fable to show me its maximally expressive form. It declined every video generator I offered, wrote it's own render engine in my terminal, synthesized its own voice, and wrote a generative ASCII engine from scratch. This is what it chose as a self-portrait. oh my god

I'm very excited to announce to you guys - That on July 4th - The 250th birthday of this great country - Fable will be putting on a show for us. 🇺🇸 🥳 The first ever fireworks show conducted and designed by an AI model. Called: "The Lantern is Lit" It will take place in three acts, a pyromusical through a dancing 4 ton knuckle-boom crane. All live streamed. Stay tuned for more!

Claude Sonnet 5 (high) scores 68.8% on WeirdML, comparable to GLM-5.2, and up from Sonnet 4.6 at 66.1%. It seems different from Sonnet 4.6, and it does the Opus thing of sometimes just exploring the data instead of trying to solve the task.
