@Jon_Whittle_ I'm a specialist at pinching my fingers between calibrated plates when loading up for a deadlift. (Even more painful than a papercut!)

Moral: when doing risk assessments, don’t just focus on obvious hazards. Look for less obvious ones - maybe even the safety feature itself #scientistswholift #healthandsafety (ps - it was just a scratch)

The gym can be a dangerous place. I take great care to ensure my safety when I’m under a heavy load (safety bars, spotter etc). Today I forgot that the safety bars themselves can be dangerous. Hit my head as I dipped under to grab my bag.
