@jamescolgan26 @DevaultBrad @KVanValkenburg @GOLF_com That’s not clear in the article, but even if true, approaching the subject with that triviality is part of what legitimizes the idea. It shouldn’t be joked about given the President’s not joking comments on the issue.

Some of Fazio’s comments in this (fabulous) story on the Trump muni takeover are so out of touch they literally defy belief. Like if a guy accused of arson gave an interview talking about the benefits of gasoline, matches and fire insurance payouts
Alan Bastable@alan_bastable

Spoke to Tom Fazio this week about Trump’s D.C. muni project. At first, Fazio didn’t want the job, fearing the “aggravation” of all the red tape. Then he saw the site and couldn’t resist. Here’s the scoop on his plan. golf.com/news/plan-pres…

@eli_hardin @alan_bastable @GOLF_com The crazy thing about that, when Congress was asking judges the same question they would confirm it. If they can’t agree with the Constitution they have no business in government.

@realEstateTrent It destroys critical thinking skills which are already severely lacking. Why research and work out an answer on your own when AI can maybe correctly spit it out? Having to find your own answer helps you understand why that is the answer which is arguably more important.

@JBaileyNFL @FBallAnalysisYT The RB room did not get worse. People who don’t watch the Panthers assume Dowdle was the entire offense when in reality he wasn’t even the best RB on the team by the end of the season.

@FBallAnalysisYT Where did the Panthers get better? Their RB room got worse, they paid elite money for a mid edge rusher. Devin Lloyd is good, but an off ball LB is taking a team to 10 wins. Bryce Young isn’t a franchise quarterback. This is, at best, a mediocre team.

@KylePorterNS Wish they would only go to modern public courses. There aren’t any classics that can still provide a great test and haven’t been claimed by the USGA. Focus on Kiawah, Whistling Straits, Erin Hills, Lido, Shadow Creek, and Chambers Bay.

Higher winning score (more strokes) between U.S. Open and PGA Championship over the last 10 years. 2025: U.S. Open 2024: U.S. Open 2023: PGA 2022: PGA 2021: PGA 2020: U.S. Open 2019: PGA 2018: U.S. Open 2017: PGA 2016: U.S. Open It's intriguing to me that the U.S. Open has maintained an identity as the "you have to be tough to win this major" major when the PGA has been just as hard -- if not harder at times -- over the last decade.

The thing the PGA Tour refuses to recognize is that you can’t simply declare an event to be important and expect the fans to care. They tried it with the WGC’s, with the playoffs to no avail. “Signature Events” need to be earned. Through history, the venue, and to some extent the time of year. Memorial is a signature event. API. Genesis at the Riv is now one. Players of course. In it’s own way Waste Management is one. You can build one. Move Pebble to the summer and it would quickly become one. But simply throwing a big purse at a tournament means nothing. I think this week at Doral exposes the lie more than ever. It has the vibe of a LIV event more than a big time event. I hope they learn this lesson moving forward. Hint: They won’t. Rolapp and SSG don’t seem to get it.

@tomandmartys @GolfOutsider @PGALouis To stand up for the Truist (it is my hometown event after all) it does at least have a 20+ year history with strong winners (Tiger, Vijay, Furyk, McIlroy x4) and has been one of the tougher regular Tour events for it’s existence.

Excellent speech by King Charles. So good to hear the clarion cry for Ukraine, for NATO, for nature and the environment, for democracy and the checks on power. JFK mentioned more than Trump. Starmer directly quoted. Europe mentioned several times. Vance looked ill. I loved it. Loved the confidence in British and European values

@justandre242703 @atrupar The only time Article 5 of NATO has ever been invoked is for the defense of the United States. Nearly a third of all soldiers killed in Afghanistan were not Americans.

@eli_hardin @mplszinnia @martyamilligan @SpecialPuppy1 Lol. In real life, this is what paying $30k/year/kid plus additional social supports buys for the community. I don’t benefit from paying people to have children they can’t afford to take responsibility for.

The man suspected of shooting two CPD officers, including 38-year-old John Bartholomew, a father and 10-year veteran of the dept. who was killed, has a criminal record dating back to at least 2017, was on pretrial release in two felony cases, and escaped EM, court records show.

@SpecialPuppy1 Most people pay both at once. My issue is that assessments are based on market values that keep ballooning, with no accountability for when they drop. You overpay for years on an inflated assessment, the market corrects, and nobody gives you that money back.

@bibliographing @mplszinnia @martyamilligan @SpecialPuppy1 A community, which you benefit from living in, cannot function without schools to educate the people of the community. And the better the schools, the more successful the community. Thus you are benefiting even if you don’t have children currently in the schools.

I don't know anyone who has debased themselves as badly as Franklin Graham. What a disgrace to his father's legacy
Franklin Graham@Franklin_Graham

I had received some questions about President @realDonaldTrump's recent posts, and here are my thoughts: I do not believe President Trump would knowingly depict himself as Jesus Christ—that would certainly be inappropriate. I’m thankful the President has made it very clear that this was not at all what he thought the AI-generated image was representing—he thought it was a doctor helping someone, and when he learned of the concerns, he immediately removed the post. When I looked at the illustration, I didn’t jump to the same conclusion as some. There were no spiritual references—no halo, there were no crosses, no angels. It was a flag, soldiers, a nurse, fighter planes, eagles, the Statue of Liberty, and I think this is a lot to do about nothing. There is so much ill-intended speculation. I think his enemies are always foaming at the mouth at any possible opportunity to make him look bad. And the illustration from someone else he reposted on Truth Social yesterday, I must say that I like the fact that this is a picture of Jesus whispering in his ear, or at least His hand on his shoulder, guiding him. We all need that—we all need to be listening to Jesus. Again, I think there is an attempt to spin this into something that it isn’t. Remember, President Trump didn’t draw this, he didn’t create it, he reposted it on his social media because he thought it was nice—I would have to agree. I’m not a Catholic, I’m an evangelical, but I appreciate how President Trump has defended religious freedom for people of all faiths, including millions of evangelicals and Catholics in the U.S. and around the world. He is the most pro-Christian, pro-life president in my lifetime, and he doesn’t shy away from it. I would hope that the President and Pope Leo can meet at some point, and that the Pope would have the opportunity to thank the President for his efforts to protect religious liberty for Catholics and people of all faiths.

Why do people care so much about Augusta merch hauls and stuff like that? How is it affecting you? Is it stealing food from your kids’ mouths? The roof over their heads? Are those videos giving you cancer? No. All this discourse about what people are doing with the things they bought at what is for most a once in a lifetime experience. If you’re bothered by it, you’re either a loser or an out of touch shmuck who’s lost sight of how the other half lives. Either way, like everything else on the internet, if you don’t like it - just keep scrolling. Stop acting like you have all the answers. You don’t.
