It all started when my brother and I were 12 and 10 years old. Our father, who was in the gem mining business, involved us in his work, and we visited many emerald mines in Brazil, Colombia, and Zambia. We were truly fascinated by the gems, their history, and the demanding extraction process. However, it was difficult for us to understand why such exceptional stones had such limited applications. That's when our fascination with design and engineering began to make sense.
We decided to create unprecedented creations that would be undeniably impressive. So, we started reaching out to concept and architectural designers we admired, and they believed in our vision. That's how the design aspects of our sculptures came to life. But we believed it was essential to make them technologically advanced. That's when we came up with the idea of illuminating the gemstones from within the sculpture using a special gas.
Throughout each stage, we were told that something like this was impossible or very unlikely to achieve. But after years of finding the right people and technological and engineering solutions, we are now building a museum. We are in the early construction phase and have already sourced all the required gemstones. If you are passionate about what you're trying to do, people can sense it. Even if they can't help you directly, they will still support you. In my view, ELIBSE is a testament to believing in yourself, and the word "impossible" is not always the final answer you will hear.
