I keep hearing about Biden’s cognitive decline while I listen to Trump tell me how he defeated Obama in the 2016 election, Biden is going to start World War II, and Jeb Bush invaded Afghanistan.

Forgot how the politicization of healthcare workers and public education/teachers during the pandemic created a mass exodus of professionals permanently leaving their long-time positions. It will take decades and much legislation to fix what Trump and MAGA Republicans did.
MeidasTouch@MeidasTouch

Donald Trump ignored the deadliest pandemic of our lifetimes. He claimed it was a Democratic hoax. He said it would never come to our shores. He knew it would be deadly; he even said it on recording while being interviewed for a book. Over a million died. When Trump was president, refrigerated morgues had to park alongside hospitals to deal with the overflow of bodies. Our family members, our friends, our neighbors — gone in an instant. We had to ration toilet paper. We couldn’t find basic goods like water in our stores. In fact, nearly the entire country had to shut down. Schools were closed. Funerals were missed. Our dreams were pushed off. Republicans like to blame this on Democrats, but this all occurred under Donald Trump. He failed in his most important duty as president: to protect Americans. And then he pitted Americans against each other to take the heat off his failure. He blamed the scientists. He blamed China. He never once took responsibility. He then virtually printed money and handed it out to the wealthiest people and corporations in America with the greatly abused PPP, which was ripe with fraud and corruption. Meanwhile, the working class was destroyed. Millions and millions lost their jobs. Lines of cars wrapped for miles around local food banks. Nurses and doctors were screamed at by individuals fueled by his hatred, and then mocked by those same people when they took a few minutes to post a TikTok to bring some levity into their grueling, sleepless days. Life under Donald Trump was worse than a nightmare. It was hell on Earth. We must never let this man anywhere near power again.

This was my hotel. I dreamed of building a beautiful, modern promenade in Odessa. I've invested millions of dollars, bought out a stake from private investors, and despite the war, went on to finalize the deal with the government.

When President Clinton banned assault rifles in 1994, mass shootings dropped by 43%. After Republicans let the ban expire in 2004, they increased by 243% — please don’t tell me bans don’t work, because I don’t want to hear it.

Mychal, should have his own TV show. We need someone to fill in the space left by Mr. Rogers. I'll learn to knit and make him a sweater. You set up the fish tank. Okay? @mychal3ts #library

We spent $300 million dollars a DAY over 20 years in Afghanistan with our own troops fighting, nobody said anything. We give Ukraine old weapons due for replacement to defend themselves with and the uneducated lose their minds.

The US had a chance, a rare golden opportunity to finally crush the Russian terror machine, liquidate its military, put an end to a 100 year global terror binge, and Ukrainians would have done all the heavy lifting. Instead, they chose to allow Putin to build a true, new Axis of Evil that WILL require the sacrifice of many US lives in several theaters sometime in the near future. Allowing this Russian disinfo machine to freely warp the minds of the electorate is the real crime here. All happening on US platforms, US owned servers. It could all be turned off right now but even the owners themselves are hypnotized. Speaking as an American, we are fucking idiots. We will look back at this in horror and of course deny it can ever happen again. Mass psychosis.

@JayinKyiv We have little perspective of American society bc d*psh*ts whitewash our history and our news/information media-- like when Hitler's Nazis mass infiltrated our country and every branch of the Government. Mostly through a charismatic Priest and a far-right catholic demagogue.

Mother hid Olesia from the occupation authorities and her fellow villagers for a whole year so that no one would find out that the girl had been living with her and force her to study at a Russian school. Parents took Mykyta, Sashko, and Andrii to their grandparents on the left bank, where it was safer then. However, after the liberation of the Right Bank, the family ended up separated. The parents were waiting for the de-occupation to take their children but realized it wouldn’t happen soon. The divorced parents of Polina, Taras, and Matvii took different positions after the beginning of the full-scale war: Mom was painfully worried about Ukraine, while Dad became pro-Russian. And it was Dad who banned Mom from leaving the territory of Russia. During the occupation, children were forced to go to a Russian school, and their mother was threatened with the deprivation of her parental rights. Rescuing these children from the occupation was a complicated task. But our Save Ukraine team did it because the most significant thing is to return the children to #Ukraine, to freedom, to allow them to live in a free, cheerful country. Today, @SaveukraineUs returned 13 more children from the occupied territories of Kherson, Luhansk, and Zaporizhzhia Oblast as part of the 11 rescue missions. We returned 176 children to Ukraine in total due to 11 rescue missions.

@TheTurfConsett I just kept procrastinating on reaching out. I was afraid he'd be an asshole back to me or we'd somehow end up in another terrible argument over his mental health and drinking/drugs. I feared sending him into a deadly bender. Meaningless stupid fears.

@TheTurfConsett I would've (/was going to) told him how I've not been the same since we last fought/saw each other and stopped speaking. I'd have apologized for hurting his feelings and hoped we could eventually forgive each other. I'd have told him all the ways in which I missed him so much.

Waves of sadness after losing a best friend to overdose/suicide (we had lengthy talks for years about fentanyl contamination and his cardiac issues with cocaine) are unwelcome diversions to sorrowfully attempting to function. I'm drowning. #overdose #drugwar #Suicide

“It’s just hard to reconnect with so much shame, trauma, and structural impediments blocking the way,” he says. When we understand the impact social structures have on our lives, Fisher says, we are able to see that it is not us personally but the system which creates the pain.
