This is interesting - self-service kiosks were feared as job killers, but customers splurge & order more food when they don't have to talk to a real person! The result is fewer customer service staff but more kitchen staff. finance.yahoo.com/news/mcdonald-…

@PhDVoice @PostdocVoice So I defended a decade ago, but the very concrete skill I still use basically everyday is formatting documents in Word. It’s such a valuable skill. Obviously not worth the stress and strain of a PhD, but yes I can fix this report’s formatting as I’m writing/editing…

@Bethazor1 I split off sometime in my mid-20s, but then we realized it’s cheaper to all be in a large family plan. I own the plan, and my mom pays me monthly for her share.

@janed0nt Adore… the best part is Jessica just drags all the misogynist male cops into the ground and all her male leads want her. There are a couple of episodes which should be banished from the planet but otherwise pretty progressive for its time.

@MorganGodvin I had to buy emergency luggage while in the Boston airport because my suitcase broke going through security. Brookstone’s luggage was easily 2-3 times what I would have spent, but it lasted a long time!!

PSA: if you travel as much as I do, don’t buy cheap luggage. Case-in-point: I spent the same amount replacing broken cheap hard shells than I would’ve buying a single high-quality one. Mine broke, again.

Mine are taking forever because resident cat SCWEAM all the time. New cat don't GAF, just wants to play with him. My apartment is too small, and she's too jumpy to not lock her in the bathroom all day. I'm desperate!

there is a dearth of pet gates tall enough to stop a cat from leaping over them, is something i am discovering what do you mean 110cm is ‘extra tall’??? have any of you ever met a cat??? give me a 6ft one or give me an escapee kitten!!!

@DawnWat06000632 @NancyDr85866312 @pipofsuffolk not offended don’t worry! we did try to introduce them a few times but the problem is resident cat gets so angry she starts attacking us and will then just run away, so we’ve had to slow things down and go back to scent intro and letting her hear him rather than see him *sigh*
