I made a new course on building real-time apps with @momentohq.
It includes three complete demo apps:
* Leaderboard service using Momento cache (using its SortedSet collection)
* Real-time notification system using Momento topics (sending updates from backend to frontend)
* Real-time chat app using Momento topics (client-to-client messaging between users)
Along the way, you will see how to secure your API keys and how to generate disposable tokens for the front end (so you can connect to Momento cache/topics directly).
Momento is honestly one of the most exciting services I have come across and I love how they have stuck to the principle of pay-per-use.
And it's probably the easiest way to build real-time apps right now. Its topics are just ridiculously good!
And they don't charge you for connection time, unlike AppSync/API Gateway/Iot Core. Which can be huge for applications that need to scale to millions of users, which can accumulate idle connection time very quickly.
