@3speaktv very reasonable, I would add a quorum for DAO proposals, i.e. at least 50% of staked (active) hive has to vote for a proposal in order to get funded

Hive cost cut: -Existing DAO projects consider resubmitting proposal at MUCH lower rates -Defund all “nice to have” DAO projects -Vote return proposal as much as possible -Build HBD/BTC liquidity pool to reduce inflation via HBD-HIVE cashout conversions -Lower HBD APR to 8%

Half of the votes roughly come from 10 accounts. I agree with your sentiment on why not more HP. We spend a lot of time dangling the carrot. An informed investor would look at this as a perpetual loss leader exercise minus the leading part. Because despite all of the expenditure, we just slip further down relevancy. Sometimes spending more is not the answer. But people only think like that when it is their own money.

@bulldog1205 @simplegamee Hive is quite close to its lowest price, don't blame "whales" cause they held or are buying up more Hive, instead maybe ask why there's not more people with some hp The leo proposal went through without "big whales" voting it, so I'm sure spl will get funded eventually as well.

Unless there are some backroom deals being made to negotiate terms (highly possible), it's looking pretty clear that the Hive community doesn't see the value in Splinterlands. Which should be shocking (although it's not to those of us who have been here). Every other chain is throwing around stupid money. We are seeing 9 figure deals being invested into on chain gaming. They believe games are one of the best ways to onboard new users to the chains. Does Hive think they know better than all these chains with higher market caps and better performing tokens...

I was the first million HP to vote on the proposal - You're welcome! Although I have argued against some large DHF proposals in the past, SPL is a big part of Hive imo, if it does well, Hive absolutely does do well, and this has been shown to be true in the past (like when they bought up hundreds of thousands of accounts and burned a fair chunk of Hive whilst doing so)

Yet just like centralized chains, it's a handful of whales who get to decide whether Splinterlands gets funded or not 🤷‍♂️ Most people don't actually care about decentralization. I know those of us in the US would love for the main token to be on a CEX. It's harder not having direct access to Hive.

@Lordbutterfly As in, if it doesn't work, then you have to be in a loss position, not say 100k better off. Happy to put up some amount of money to match whatever amount you do to refund the DHF if it fails. Also, full transparency required, every expenditure down to the dollar.

Im very close to putting out a new DHF proposal for Hive. A big one. This week I will have project documentation ready that will clarify financial viability and ROI estimates. If it pans out and it hits close to initial projections I will make it public. Its something never done before and completely out of the comfort zone for most people on Hive. Ive been gathering feedback behind the scenes and so far the response was generally positive. I expect some pushback for this generally from developers on Hive as there is a general sense with them that the DHF should only be used for core development. I disagree with that. Time to see how business oriented mindset on Hive stacks against the “development only” mindset. Its hard to say what kind of chance this has of passing but if it does… and proposed scaling after 6-12 months is adopted, it should change everything.
