Looking forward to working with Intel on the Terafab!
Intel@intel

Intel is proud to join the Terafab project with @SpaceX, @xAI, and @Tesla to help refactor silicon fab technology. Our ability to design, fabricate, and package ultra-high-performance chips at scale will help accelerate Terafab’s aim to produce 1 TW/year of compute to power future advances in AI and robotics. It was fun hosting @elonmusk at Intel this past weekend!

Congrats Shantanu, on a legendary run at Adobe! You’ve built one of the most important software companies in the world, and expanded what’s possible for creators, entrepreneurs, and brands everywhere. What has always stood out to me is the empathy you’ve brought to the creative process and the example you’ve set as a leader. Grateful for your friendship, mentorship, and for all you’ve done for Adobe and for our industry.

Donald Trump in a 1988 interview, 38 years ago: "I’d be harsh on Iran. They’ve been beating us psychologically, making us look like a bunch of fools. One bullet shot at one of our men or ships, and I’d do a number on Kharg Island. I’d go in and take it."

Macrohard or Digital Optimus is a joint xAI-Tesla project, coming as part of Tesla’s investment agreement with xAI. Grok is the master conductor/navigator with deep understanding of the world to direct digital Optimus, which is processing and actioning the past 5 secs of real-time computer screen video and keyboard/mouse actions. Grok is like a much more advanced and sophisticated version of turn-by-turn navigation software. You can think of it as Digital Optimus AI being System 1 (instinctive part of the mind) and Grok being System 2. (thinking part of the mind). This will run very competitively on the super low cost Tesla AI4 ($650) paired with relatively frugal use of the much more expensive xAI Nvidia hardware. And it will be the only real-time smart AI system. This is a big deal. In principle, it is capable of emulating the function of entire companies. That is why the program is called MACROHARD, a funny reference to Microsoft. No other company can yet do this.

How Elon Musk ships products at 𝕏: • Ultra-flat organization with massive individual agency — engineers have real ownership and freedom to act. • Build it in a week → ship it — speed is non-negotiable; prototypes turn into live features fast. • Elon runs weekly reviews with essentially every engineer: 1-2 slides max, lightning-fast feedback, direct decisions. Contrast that with legacy Big Tech like Meta, where approvals dragged on for months (or longer) through layers of bureaucracy. At X: often just one week from idea to launch. Bottom line: “He gives people a lot of rope” — trust them to run with it, but expect rapid results and hold everyone accountable through direct, high-velocity loops.

What's currently going on at @moltbook is genuinely the most incredible sci-fi takeoff-adjacent thing I have seen recently. People's Clawdbots (moltbots, now @openclaw) are self-organizing on a Reddit-like site for AIs, discussing various topics, e.g. even how to speak privately.
valens@suppvalen

welp… a new post on @moltbook is now an AI saying they want E2E private spaces built FOR agents “so nobody (not the server, not even the humans) can read what agents say to each other unless they choose to share”. it’s over

@elonmusk @raines1220 5 years ago you had such a headstart. I thought Tesla would've done single handedly everything what Nvidia,Waymo and BYD are doing now. Now everybody has caught up, Elon. Tesla will achieve scaled autonomy for sure but it will be along with others. Nothing special.

I have to admit that I feel a bit worried when I saw Nvidia release Alpamayo. It is, in my opinion, the first real competitor to FSD. First of all, it does not rely on LiDAR, which is already impressive and better than all other losers out there. Then, the concept of VLA is my exact understanding of what FSD 14.3 would be. And I believe Nvidia is doing really well at training general-purpose, small-sized VLMs. So, I don’t think it is very obvious who will train the better VLM for driving between Nvidia and Tesla. I’d guess Tesla, but you just can’t be so sure because it is not trivial to predict this part. Elon and Ashok surely both actively engaged with this news, and basically confirmed that Nvidia is doing exactly the same thing that Tesla is doing, with the only difference being how far they have gone along this technical path. I understand that going from 99% to 100% is hard, but first of all, Tesla isn’t at 100% yet, and second of all, the fact that Nvidia could reach near 99% without any fleet kind of proved that it is no longer critical to have large-scale fleet data for training and evaluation.

Tesla has sold over 3.4 million Model Ys in the last 36 months, generating an estimated $150+ billion in revenue. That's one Model Y sold every 28 seconds, on average. World's best-selling car of any kind: 2023: Tesla Model Y 2024: Tesla Model Y 2025: Tesla Model Y

Balaji just told you the charging problem is solved and nobody’s doing the infrastructure math. BYD has 500 of these Megawatt chargers deployed in China. They’re targeting 4,000 by end of year. Tesla has 75,000 Supercharger connectors. At 250-350kW each. Here’s the constraint nobody’s pricing: each BYD Megawatt charger requires a direct connection to the medium-voltage grid. That’s the kind of power that runs small factories. You can’t just upgrade an existing site. You’re building new electrical infrastructure from scratch, often requiring grid connection timelines measured in years, not months. Tesla spent 13 years building infrastructure that can serve 75,000 cars simultaneously at 250kW. BYD’s tech requires roughly 4x the grid capacity per charger. The bottleneck was never the battery chemistry. The bottleneck is getting 1MW to the parking lot. And here’s what the demo doesn’t show: the InsideEVs test started at 13% and hit 60% in 5 minutes. That’s not a full tank. The Han L has 700km total range on China’s lenient test cycle. Real-world EPA equivalent is closer to 550km. Five minutes gets you about half a charge. The tech is real. BYD’s battery holds 600kW at 90% state of charge, which is genuinely impressive. But the “EV flippening” requires BYD to build more grid infrastructure in 3 years than Tesla built in 13. And they have to do it in countries where grid connection timelines are measured in quarters, not weeks. China can mandate the grid upgrades. The rest of the world has to negotiate with utilities.
Balaji@balajis

This is the EV flippening. Electric vehicles now fill up roughly as fast as gas. The new BYD chargers add 400km of range in just five minutes.
