@Vanakam17 @JeffBezos @elonmusk Blue Origin is making significant progress on reusability! However, economics and scale still need to be proven. It’s great to see competition heating up where SpaceX has been so dominant for nearly a decade.
Starship v3 to launch in ~3 weeks. 🚀

@SawyerMerritt South Carolina has no Tesla showrooms or service centers.
Both my Model 3 and Model Y were purchased in North Carolina.
I have to drive to NC or GA for major repairs (thankfully not frequent).
Hopefully that changes soon.

Tesla is suing the state of North Dakota because the state won't allow the company to open any showrooms/service centers and sell direct to consumers.
North Dakota law prohibits vehicle manufacturers from owning car dealerships and requires them to sell their products to franchised dealerships for resale to consumers.
“Tesla just wants to be able to sell its vehicles in North Dakota, and not force customers who would wish to purchase a Tesla vehicle to have to drive to Minnesota or another state to do it,” said Ari Holtzblatt, one of Tesla’s attorneys in the case.
Tesla is asking the court to declare the company does not fall within the definition of manufacturer contained in state law. The term is defined as a person who assembles or imports a motor vehicle and sells it to dealers in the state for resale.
It's wild that in 2026, we still have U.S. states that won't allow direct vehicle sales to consumers. It hurts consumers and reduces choice.

14 new Robotaxis in Austin? 🤠
Joe Tegtmeyer 🚀 🤠🛸😎@JoeTegtmeyer
Something big has changed at Giga Texas with Cybercab production … ~ 14 in the outbound lot WITHOUT STEERING WHEELS! Earlier this week, the production line has begun what we are all waiting for and I would expect to see many more starting on Monday, 4/20 🤠 A big step forward!

@Teslaconomics the first two images show the entire board, while the third image only shows the SoC (system on a chip)
AI5 will also be on a board

@verusphoenix @elonmusk @TaiwanSemi_TSC @Samsung IMO private inference services are going to be in high demand as AI agent capabilities increase. People will want to minimize external API calls for privacy and cost savings.
English

Will Tesla add AI5 to Powerwall to start the private home AI revolution? Sell energy during scarcity and inference during abundance.
Elon Musk@elonmusk
@teslaownersSV @TaiwanSemi_TSC @Samsung Optimus and our supercomputer clusters. AI4 is enough to achieve much better than human safety for FSD.
English

@elonmusk @TaiwanSemi_TSC @Samsung Plug these in to the next generation PowerWall and enable private AI services for homes and disconnected environments. Sell energy during scarcity and inference during abundance.
English

And thank you to @TaiwanSemi_TSC and @Samsung for your support in bringing this chip to production! It will be one of most produced AI chips ever.
English

@tesla_na Man I'd love it if you guys could get insurance in Georgia too.

@elonmusk @inmotionadvies @wholemars @RDWnl @TeslaOwnersNL @KRoelandschap Tesla's versioning follows this format:
YYYY.WW.R
- YYYY = Year of the software branch/fork
- WW = Week of the year when the branch was created (here: week 3 of 2026)
- R = Revision/build number on that branch
FSD versions are linked but independent.
English

@inmotionadvies @wholemars @RDWnl @TeslaOwnersNL @KRoelandschap I guess we have different naming conventions in Europe, but this is basically v14.3

I'm writing a Dave's Garage episode on why new computers are slower than old ones (spoiler alert: it's the software).
After enjoying my obligatory photo of counting 6502 cycles like it was the olden days, let me know what you think is the biggest factor in why current code is so much slower than old code.
Here are my basic premises so far:
- We lost the hardware constraints that kept us honest
- No enforced CPU/RAM budgets, no daily benchmarks
- Abstractions without accounting for their costs
- Incentives shifted towards feature release speed
- Lowered perf standards, where "it works" is enough
- Dependency explosions in code
- AI is also a multiplier of mediocrity
What am I missing?
