I’m posting this here because I can’t handle seeing so much hate towards Joe just because he used to date someone. Even though it’s been three years since their breakup. Joe was depressed (she made sure to expose this to the whole world as if it was something to make fun of, like he was less for having depression and anxiety). “I stopped trying to make him laugh” is just one of the proofs she wasn't supporting him during his hard times. The song Renegade is just her treating his anxiety as something futile, blaming him and even doubting he really had those problems: “Is it really your anxiety that stops you from giving me everything or do you just not want to?” Okay, so he's faking because he didn't propose? In False God she says “Daring you to leave me just so I can try and scare you”, how can people say she's a victim when she made those mental games with him KNOWING that was a trigger for him? In Renegade she says he hates himself and that is demolishing HER. Someone who says “Get your shit together so I can love you” isn't a good partner. She expressed many times how he supported her during her depressing days, building a fire to keep her warm, she said “You would break your back to make me break a smile”, and she can't do the same for him? In afterglow she admits she blames him for things she KNOWS he didn't do and starts arguments because of her traumas, and he chose to stay even when she tried to breakup because she felt like she could ruin the career he was just starting. She said he deleted twitter from her phone to avoid her seeing hate comments because she entered to see what people were talking about her. He literally ran away with her to hide from the world, took her to his house and to live with his family so she could have a normal life and he's bad? The truth is that she was the only one allowed to suffer in the relationship and have problems. When he was going through something, she didn't supporting and treated like it was nothing, because for her, her problems were bigger. As she says in You're Losing Me “know my pain is such an imposition”. People started to say that the songs for him are anxious and sad, but those songs are full of love and happiness. You love that person so much you wouldn't handle walking on a damn street if you guys broke up, it's bc it's the most meaningful thing of your life that you can't live without. She was scared of losing the only real thing she had, that's normal. Your relationship isn’t bad just because you’re scared of losing the person, and she made it very clear that she felt like that because of her past’s relationships, because she had “traumas” of the men she dated in the past. Let the man live his damn life, your fav is happy with someone else and engaged. Focus on that and her happiness instead of wasting time with people you don’t like.
