@messie_jcclurg Yeah if I look through my phone pics I can find a lot that I was taking because I was looking for something to post. There’s a whole graveyard of photos like this!

@WoodpeckerMax As a current and future never-has-been-and-probably-won’t-be I (a) think I already follow you? I’ll check. And (b) doesn’t matter much anyway 😂 glad to know you’re doing alright!
English

@WoodpeckerMax Hah, yes! But joking aside this is the general train of though my initial post is about. Without strava, would those people exist? Without IG/FB/Strava, would people still get out to peaks w. hip blankets? Would people still chase summit/vert/mile/etc. goals? maybe some would.
English

@WoodpeckerMax Anyhow, going back to outdoors stuff topic- hope you are doing well and finding some sanity these days! I’d say I’ve been following on Strava or IG.. but, I haven’t. And that’s been a nice thing 😀
English

@WoodpeckerMax That’s not just social media either. Same can be said for traditional media, for movies, for anything.
English

@WoodpeckerMax IE, I don’t think person A recreating or training for kudos or likes is any lesser or worse than person B who is just trying to find pure old school adventure. Just different preferences and both are good as long as both are done responsibly.
English

@WoodpeckerMax 🤷♂️. I agree re: what should we expect. (See other tweet on people ultimately drive content) but we’re switch tracking a bit. I don’t think there’s a be-all-end-all morality code (other than responsible recreation and not being jerks, etc)
English

@WoodpeckerMax Neither is Strava (gameifies fitness, and embarrassingly awful community/discussion platform. I could rant on this for days) and neither is FB. There isn’t a good medium that I’ve discovered. IG is actually pretty good IMO
