Came across this apparent Black-Throated Diver x Great Northern Diver hybrid, whilst carrying out Black-Throated Diver surveys in the Scottish Highlands this week. It was present with three other Black-Throated Divers and a pretty striking individual!
Been a really slow week at Wedholme but amazingly, the species it was crying out for, actually turned up. Awful photos but very pleased to find this Temminck’s Stint this evening @CumbriaBirdClub

V productive late am visit for dragons at Waldegrave Pool, Priddy. Only 11 spp, but 3 NFYs: Common Hawker (1), Black Darte (2), and Common Emerald (lots). Also a male Keeled Skimmer - my 1st for the site and poss my 1st in Somerset. Anyone else recorded them there?
Pretty sombre sight this morning, the Brünnich's Guillemot is still in Scrabster Harbour this morning but looking a bit poorly...it did dive several times but with no real impetus.
@elyod95 Nice! It has been showing well, particularly in the morning. Would you mind sending me one of your pics of this bird? I found it on Tuesday but unfortunately have no camera with me. I can PM my email address if so.
EMPTY LEDGES. First visit to North Sutor colony revealed the extreme impact bird flu, storms and rising sea temps have had on seabirds. Cormorants down by 36% to only 86 nests, shags by 60% to 60 nests and Guillemots down by a massive 83% on last year.
