@KesterWilsonNan @bristolbirding I saw the Bonxie at OPS. That isn't the bird l saw. Probably a stock photo.
English

Another great day at Estaca, personal tally of 2 or 3 South Polars among the usual fare, plus this melanistic Corys Shearwater that caused some initial excitement!! Has to be strong possibility it is same bird from Scilly a month ago, with more advanced moult now @Scillypelagics

English

@BirderGaz Just because it's presumably in wing moult. Assume both wings are the same?
English

@KesterWilsonNan hi wont let me private msg ya out of curiosity my dad asking me to ask ya how come you wanted wing photo?
English

Don't know how female PADDYFIELD WARBLER trapped and ringed at a confidential private site in Staffordshire @BirdGuides
Also unprecedented 20 sedge warbler they don't breed here No further sign after release Only me and my 2 helpers on site saw bird. @Kevin_Clements @TheMoorehen

English

@2527thomas Timing is similar, but 37% were adults. 84 ringed. 31 adults, 20 were females. Never had so many females at this time of year. Not sure if I have missed a batch of departing males.
English

@KesterWilsonNan Hi Kester. How does the timing of your first big catch of the autumn compare with previous years? It’s been an appalling breeding season in north Notts.
English

@BirdtourAsia @nomadbirder @BeidaiheBirder Seems to be a 2nd cal. Very worn primaries compared to the tail, so would have duller coverts than an adult. Unless it replaces them. (Assumed its replaced its tail?)
English

@nomadbirder @BeidaiheBirder just looking at this now. To me, appears to be a pallasi/polaris - I would have expected broader, more buff fringing on GCs and tertials, though of course, it could be really worn.
English

Actually, take a look at the image at bongariliitto.fi/index.php/uuti… The translations of the Finnish names are brilliant, but... i wonder what race the PRB is? @BirdtourAsia
Paul French@nomadbirder
Crazy stuff in Finland!

@mattthesparrow @lucyjayneryan @HERDOFHERDHALL From what I recall Stanford RG tagged six Blackcaps in their first Autumn and had a bird pass over Sandwich Bay, so I think the recovery rate will be higher than a metal ring. I would imagine for a specific project it will be well worth it.
English

@lucyjayneryan Big thank you to anyone who donated and especially the two property owners Jem Babbington and Michael Semmens.
English

Ooh lovely, look at #MotusWTS popping up everywhere!
Kester Wilson@KesterWilsonNan
Motus and CTT coverage in West Cornwall.
English

@HERDOFHERDHALL @lucyjayneryan Thanks Chris. Hope the range is as good as the CTT tags. Very impressive.
English

@lucyjayneryan @KesterWilsonNan Hi Lucy
Yes I’ll get it to them once I get it off the island
English

@wilsonjaredm Small talk around the dining room table for you, non of this seawatching shenanigans!

@Birder_Griffon @SEO_BirdLife @4Vultures @OurmaninTurkey @birdbrainuk @Alexander_Lees @IanCarter67 @polyolbion @MarkAvery @chrissperring I wasn't being serious
English

@Birder_Griffon @SEO_BirdLife @4Vultures @OurmaninTurkey @birdbrainuk @Alexander_Lees @IanCarter67 @polyolbion @MarkAvery @chrissperring Can we use that for Paddyfield Pipit 😀
English

@PBOprof The range on the antennas is very impressive. Tried out CTT Nodes and the tags get picked up in the undergrowth!
English

@KesterWilsonNan Brilliant, know I difficult it can be from Martin at PBO.
English

@ArlyRes @BEACHYBIRDER They use CTT tags on Bats. The antennas are smaller, but still surprised how far they are picking up tags.
English

@BEACHYBIRDER @KesterWilsonNan It can give some amazing additional stuff like speeds, direction of travel, height etc but this is mainly from Bat data thus far in Europe
