@jessicalmar As a member of Wilfrid Laurier University's Sustainability club, what do you think university students can be doing in their own community to help support the movement towards a future free of fossil fuels?

I found it particularly surprising how large class sizes can get in some of these areas. In Malawi the average class size is 130 children. This helps me appreciate the quality of education in Canada, where we get much more hands on learning and extra help from profs. #EM203Robin

In EM203, I've gotten a very interactive experience on the topics we've discussed. After reading about learning theories such as Constructivism, Learning By Doing, and Cognitivism, I am more aware of these concepts and can observe them in my own learning #EM203Robin

@mcesario_EM204 It is difficult to image that not too long-ago information could not be shared as easily! The compounding effects of technology on learning have greatly improved one’s ability to obtain value in education, while also having fun learning through online interactions.

So far in EM203 I have learned about the theory Connectivism. This theory demonstrates how internet technologies have created new ways for people to learn/share information across the internet. Displaying how vital Connectivism is within the online learning landscape #EM203Robin

@EM203tstrugar Since moving to a digital age connectivism has become incredibly effective. Technology and media exposure grasps learner’s attention in ways that sparks their interest. The agility of it also allows this interest to be developed in a variety of ways.

In the first few weeks of taking EM203, I've learned about the implications of connectivism, and how it uses the collective knowledge of others to help the user learn. It's amazing what can be done through the use of technology and networks! #EM203Robin

@EM203DPereira I think it is also important to emphasize how much technology makes it easier to learn through being informed of current events such as politics and the economy. One can constantly keep on top of these trends through reading articles on online news sites and through social media

@em203aknoop @EM203thompson Technology in the classroom can also be used to facilitate a more interactive learning experience. This can include the use of iclickers and jeopardy style games. This allows content to still be taught, yet students are more excited and engaged in the learning experience.

@EM203JHo @em203jfrechet I find the apprentice type of learning really unique in the sense that it allows direct feedback. An individual is performing tasks on the job, getting constant feedback from co-workers and managers which they can then directly apply to their next task.

@em203jfrechet The apprentice type of learning where there is a master in your industry to teach you the day to day responsibilities of your position is very beneficial for people who learn best by doing. I like how it teaches you the motor skills right away.

EM203 has given me insight on different learning strategies, such as learning by doing where someone coaches you on a task. There has also been discussions on how technology impacts our learning, whether we find it enhances or impairs it. #EM203Robin

EM203 has shown me how powerful Digital Literacy can be. It explores less traditional ways of learning, and the ability to combine learning styles. This allows for greater connectivism across students. #EM203Robin
