today the CBF team travelled up to Newcastle for #NBUG12! one of our data scientists @em_j_johnson presented her pipeline to analyse spatial transcriptomics data with a case study from our collaborators in the @Hapangama_Lab group. lots of great questions and excellent talks! :D

yesterday in collaboration with the WP team we welcomed students from @NorthLivAcademy to the university for our coding & data science workshop. the students did brilliantly - here you can see an example of one of the programs they put together in just 20 minutes! #outreach #STEM

@eshansharma1 honestly very scary to me, i can't help but worry about how this could be used to spread misinformation during the upcoming elections... i already see people unable to spot obvious AI images on facebook. and now people will be able to refute video evidence with 'fake news/AI!'

--but the ones that really stick with me are when the kids tell me they don't think they can do it, or they don't think they're smart enough and then they prove themselves completely wrong. 2023 was a great year for outreach and we've got more lined up this year :D
