Last year I posted about a LGBTQIA+ youth book every day of Pride. This year I'm going to post more books (I do work at a library, after all) but I'm going to include adult books. Here's the first one...

Oh, I'm using this.

First improv class with 8-10 year olds. I ask them who are their favorite funny characters. Their answers: Homer Simpson, the Rugrats, Uncle Buck, Bob (What About Bob), Captain Underpants, and Groot. These kids are SO COOL. (Also, nice job, Millennial parents 😎)

Ah! Simple.

@garonnevik I’ve been a Christian teacher in public schools for many decades. I so wish that more Christian teachers would choose public schools. We are meant to be the salt of the earth, not a pile of salt in a corner somewhere.

Okay, this Y graphic novel has been recommended to me for YEARS by MANY people, and they are so right : Namona by @Gingerhazing is INCREDIBLE and BEAUTIFUL and HILARIOUS. Perfect read to celebrate Pride! 🏳️‍🌈

Another fabulous adult read for Pride. This one... WHEW. I will be recovering from it for a long while. Lovely portrayals of queer women, plus cut-throat violinists, actual demons, actual AND virtual girlfriends, gorgeous descriptions, and of course, space doughnuts. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️✨

Happy Pride, y'all.

Studies show that queer people who stay in the church are 30-55% more likely to die by suicide than those who leave. Let that sink in. We are MORE likely to die if we go to church on Sunday. Jesus saves. It’s time for his church to stop killing us.
