The United States appears willing to engage with the current Iranian regime, as ongoing indirect negotiations and backchannel communications continue despite the conflict.
The US administration appears to be looking for a potential leader who can effectively lead the Iranian nation, someone rooted within the country, secular as well as moderately religious, capable of working with Western and Arab states, and not posing a threat to the State of Israel.

The issue is not necessarily that Prince Reza Pahlavi could not lead the country, but rather that he may struggle to bridge the gap with Iran’s large religious segment of society. Iran remains a deeply religious country, with the vast majority of its population identifying as religious Muslims.
Any future leadership that fails to engage or accommodate this significant religious bloc risks creating further division. Without inclusion, there is a real possibility of prolonged political and religious instability.
Additionally, Iran’s opposition remains highly fragmented, with no single figure capable of representing the full diversity of Iranian society. This makes any transition even more complex and increases the risk of internal conflict if competing factions are not reconciled.

The mad thing is Judaism, Christianity and Islam are effectively different denominations of the same religion They all believe Abraham (Ibrahim for Muslims) was first to make convenant with God. Jews believe the convenant passed through his son Isaac and then Jacob. Christians agree. Muslims believe the convenant line passed through his other son Ishmael (Ismail) Christians believe Jesus Christ was the promised Messiah - and part of God (Holy Trinity). Muslims believe Jesus was a prophet but not divine. Jews don’t recognise him as either (I’m an atheist, so don’t believe any of it)

It never clicked for me until now, but that's incredibly bizarre. Rothbard was Jewish and his family was from Poland, which was Holocaust ground zero. It seems very unlikely that there wouldn't be any relatives or friends among the victims.

This was touched on in Sons and Soldiers by Bruce Henderson, a book about German Jews who fled Europe and returned in the US Army during WW2. Jewish Germans had the highest rates of volunteering for the German Army in WWI. 100,000 jewish Germans served in WWI, out of a population of merely 500,000, meaning 40% of all male jewish Germans served. Also one has to understand one context about that picture: It was taken not in Germany but in Poland, which German had just taken from the Russian Empire. Russia was an extremely antisemeitic society while German at that time was one of the most philosemitic in Europe. So theese Jews are not laughing at the German soldier, they are happy about Germany defeating Russia.

I often try to explain to people that media bias isn't all ideological. The media is also biased towards bad news, stories about the media itself, sex, violence, money, etc. The fact that a quadruple amputee competitive corn hole player murdered someone is an example of another kind of bias: unusual stories that people like talking about. There is nothing inherently wrong with this bias. My only point is that biases we like are rarely identified as a bias.
