Truth, at last. From a brilliant Kuwaiti.
UN Watch@UNWatch

🔥 BEST VIDEO OF THE YEAR Rare moment of truth at the UN from brave Kuwaiti dissident @JJJuraid, invited by UN Watch: Mr. Chair, I heard the term “colonizers.” But who are the real colonizers? A Jewish Kingdom ruled in Judea for a thousand years. We, the Arabs, took this land. Who Arabized Egyptians, Phoenicians, Persians and Amazighs? It was us, the Arabs. So why does the council enshrine a lie by keeping a permanent agenda item on Palestine, while ignoring the indigenous heart of Israel returning home? Let us be clear about who is actually defending our sovereignty. Today, Israel is a fighter for peaceful nations, freeing Gaza from Hamas and saving Iranians from the Islamic Republic. What Israel is doing to the IRGC — stopping a genocidal regime from acquiring nuclear weapons — is a gift to humanity. There are 57 Islamic countries and only one Jewish state, Israel. Despite the ongoing hateful desire to eliminate it, Israel has not only survived, it has thrived. I don't believe in miracles, but this is one. So I ask the UN: when will you end the ritual of condemning Israel? Is it not time, instead, to learn from Israel? How to defeat terror, defend free societies, and pursue peace. Thank you.

@NiohBerg @dahrinoor2 An unbiased survey comparing the piousness of Iranian Moslems with American Christians would be interesting, but they're probably in the same ballpark when it's not enforced at gunpoint.

🇺🇸/🇮🇷/🇮🇱 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗦 𝗻𝗲𝗴𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗜𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗺𝗲 The United States appears willing to engage with the current Iranian regime, as ongoing indirect negotiations and backchannel communications continue despite the conflict. The US administration appears to be looking for a potential leader who can effectively lead the Iranian nation, someone rooted within the country, secular as well as moderately religious, capable of working with Western and Arab states, and not posing a threat to the State of Israel. 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙡𝙚 𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙢 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙛𝙞𝙜𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙯𝙖 𝙋𝙖𝙝𝙡𝙖𝙫𝙞 𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙣𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙢. The issue is not necessarily that Prince Reza Pahlavi could not lead the country, but rather that he may struggle to bridge the gap with Iran’s large religious segment of society. Iran remains a deeply religious country, with the vast majority of its population identifying as religious Muslims. Any future leadership that fails to engage or accommodate this significant religious bloc risks creating further division. Without inclusion, there is a real possibility of prolonged political and religious instability. Additionally, Iran’s opposition remains highly fragmented, with no single figure capable of representing the full diversity of Iranian society. This makes any transition even more complex and increases the risk of internal conflict if competing factions are not reconciled. 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙩𝙤 𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙛𝙮 𝙗𝙤𝙩𝙝 𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙧 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙨𝙚𝙜𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙨𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙩𝙮 𝙩𝙤 𝙖𝙫𝙤𝙞𝙙 𝙘𝙮𝙘𝙡𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣. This is something I have been saying for a long time, but western anti regime activists were not willing to acknowledge it that the ground level strategy is far different from what they have been talking about.

I'm not in the camp that says Islam necessarily makes people bad (my Iranian Moslem grandparents weren't going to go behead anyone), and all belief systems contain bad people, but Islam definitely seems to bring latent evil to the fore.

@gghamari Having to trust Grok on the Farsi, but it sounds like it's comparing regime opponents to those who collaborated with Hitler (i.e. they're saying Trump = Hitler, freedom-seeking Iranians = quislings). Is Grok's translation wrong, or am I misinterpreting it?

@wil_da_beast630 Christianity is a service pack for Judaism OS. Whether it's an official release is what's disputed. Islam is a pirated version, heavily hacked so it will run programs that the original OS flags as malware.

It never clicked for me until now, but that's incredibly bizarre. Rothbard was Jewish and his family was from Poland, which was Holocaust ground zero. It seems very unlikely that there wouldn't be any relatives or friends among the victims.

Saying that Mises/Rothbard were incredible economists while also saying Milton Friedman was an incredible economist just means you don't know shit about any of them. You can't have them in the same list. And I'm not even talking about Milei being in a list of "incrdible economists"... You just show you don't know what you're talking about.
Jack V Lloyd@jackvlloyd

Incredible economists you should become familiar with: - Javier Milei - Ludwig von Mises - Milton Friedman - Friedrich Hayek - Murray Rothbard - Walter Block - Thomas Sowell - Henry Hazlitt - Per Bylund - Jesús Huerta de Soto - Carl Menger - Eugen von Böhm-Bawerk - Lawrence Reed

@TheCriticalDri2 Even if he could somehow keep his political views out of it, has he ever done anything that's not comedy? Maybe he could do a bang-up job of the "unexpected party" portion of The Hobbit, but I don't think serious is his forte, however well he knows the material.

This was touched on in Sons and Soldiers by Bruce Henderson, a book about German Jews who fled Europe and returned in the US Army during WW2. There's a family discussion about Hitler during the Nazi's very early years, and one of the older folks says approximately "They don't mean us, they mean Jews who aren't good Germans. We fought for the Fatherland in the Great War -- there are Jewish names on the memorial down in the town square."

Germany betrayed these brave Jewish warriors for the West, not vice versa. This is the reality of low-IQ populism. Hitler - an impotent speed freak who might have BEEN 25% Jewish - launched a war with the USA and Russia at the same time (!!!), killed more white men than anyone in history, ended the British colonial Empire, and ended his reign with a cowardly suicide as ~every woman over 11 was raped. The man DEFINES failure, as vs our own somewhat glorious polyglot society.
Noah Jakob Rettberg 🇩🇪🇪🇺@NoahRettberg

Jewish Germans had the highest rates of volunteering for the German Army in WWI. 100,000 jewish Germans served in WWI, out of a population of merely 500,000, meaning 40% of all male jewish Germans served. Also one has to understand one context about that picture: It was taken not in Germany but in Poland, which German had just taken from the Russian Empire. Russia was an extremely antisemeitic society while German at that time was one of the most philosemitic in Europe. So theese Jews are not laughing at the German soldier, they are happy about Germany defeating Russia.

@DrEliDavid President Trump never said most respected by "the people". He just said "most respected" of the remaining leaders that haven't been exterminated yet. Trump is setting Ghalibaf up to surrender unconditionally. And if he doesn't, he'll go boom boom. It's as simple as that.

Trump: “We're dealing with the top person in Iran, the most respected by the people.” Ghalibaf couldn't be LESS respected. He ran for the presidency 4 times, losing all. In 2024 presidential elections he ran against Pezeshkian, and lost, receiving only 14% of votes 🤡

I often try to explain to people that media bias isn't all ideological. The media is also biased towards bad news, stories about the media itself, sex, violence, money, etc. The fact that a quadruple amputee competitive corn hole player murdered someone is an example of another kind of bias: unusual stories that people like talking about. There is nothing inherently wrong with this bias. My only point is that biases we like are rarely identified as a bias. We just call it news judgment or editorial judgement, if we call it anything at all. nytimes.com/athletic/71421…

SFA wasn't doomed because of the demographics of its actors nor its characters, but because the characters were badly written and the scripts were shoddy stories. Those of us who are old enough to have been around for the good characters who got good stories, shake our heads. 😔

It’s funny watching the comments. “Did you watch it?”🙄 No, I’ve only seen the one clip with passing of the glasses that I made fun of several weeks ago. I’ve seen bits and pieces of the other series when I did my documentaries for a primer on them.
