@HinaBokhariLD, first, @LibDems support fair votes, not proportional representation. Second, and this is important, because the electoral pacts, spoiler candidates, & tactical voting, feature-set of the plurality-winner vote is antidemocratic. Third, say #YES2AV+! #PoliticsLive

Liberal Democrats will always fight for Proportional Representation, to make sure politics works for everyone. We may have every councillor on some councils, but we don't have every vote. Everyone's voice deserves to be heard and represented.

@PaulKohlerSW19, whether as a Liberal, or a Social, Democrat; is deficit-funding market failure (train overcrowding and empty mid-morning to mid-afternoon trains) by Fabians, right? It’s anti-free-market Statism with a regressive economic incidence, not infrastructure. #HS2 #PMQs

@SteveBakerFRSA You're better off explaining that both train overcrowding and empty mid-morning to mid-afternoon train arrivals at London termini are examples of a market failure, Steve. Deficit-funding this, not zero-particulate-emission electric omnibuses, has a regressive economic incidence.

@mehdirhasan Maybe explain, Mehdi. Christian Rome abolished Judea and expelled the Jews from Palestine. Also, the first Zionist was the Semitic Arab Muslim conqueror of Jerusalem, who resettled Jews in Zion, not ethno-confessional fascists from Jew-killing, later Muslim-hating, Christendom.

He didn’t say a word about Jews and you writing ‘Israel/Jews’ and conflating the two is actually antisemitic, per the IHRA definition. He did make a dig about Israel because the pro-Israel lobby tonight is bragging about defeating him, which they did, with millions of dollars.
Alex Witkoff@Alex_Witkoff

Even in his concession speech, Thomas Massie had to take a shot at Israel/Jews People wonder why antisemitism is exploding in America, while politicians casually use Jewish associations as political punchlines and smears. It’s vile.

@TwoBitDaVinci, consider your audience, and provide the levelised cost of zero-carbon cycle energy and levelised cost of zero-carbon cycle storage information whenever possible. You do great work, by the way. #LCOE #LCOS x.com/TwoBitDaVinci/…

Finland's massive sand battery is revolutionizing renewable energy storage. This 13m tower, holding 2000 tons of crushed stone, stores clean electricity as heat, powering a town and eliminating 160 tons of CO2 annually. #SandBattery #RenewableEnergy #GreenTech

@LisaSmartMP, this Palmerstonian abhors populists and populism in electoral politics as much as the electoral pacts, spoiler candidates, and tactical voting feature-set of our single-member constituencies via the plurality-winner vote electoral system. Say #YES2AV+! #PoliticsLive

@JoshBabarinde, at #GE2024, a plurality or 20%, not a majority, in the UK, voted for Starmer's Labour. Worse still, no one will vote, except @UKLabour's members, for Wes Streeting, a Fabian, or Andy Burnham, a Socialist. Say #YES2AV+, embrace capitalism, & reject statism.#r4today

@LisaSmartMP and @LaylaMoran, not acknowledging that Zionism is about ethnically cleansing Muslim and Christian Arabs from Palestine by ethno-confessional fascists is complicity. Pogroms and genocide of Jews occur in Christendom not under Islam in #Iran, #Iraq, #Egypt & #Turkey.

Israel has long been one of America’s closest allies. But according to recent polls, it's rapidly losing support among the American public. I spoke with Israeli-American historian @bartov_omer, who has a new book out, “Israel: What Went Wrong?”

@KemiBadenoch, especially about your anti-Muslim and anti-Christian anti-Semitism, I wonder if it's that you've no sense or advisors. First, someone else should write your copy. Second, @CamillaTominey, who means you well, is a know-nothing. She's a backbencher's job, not yours.

@garyseconomics First, end the electoral tyranny of the right, by proposing single-member constituencies via the alternative, not the plurality-winner, vote. Second, consider whether your policies have regressive or progressive economic incidences and prescribe ESOPs, profit-sharing, & mutuals.

Labour’s chaos is costing Britain, but even if Starmer goes Labour’s backbenchers don’t have the backbone to take the decisions the country needs - like cutting the ballooning benefits bill.

@theobertram Your comment is disqualifying, @theobertram. Statist interventions in the labour, housing, & energy markets via workers, tenants, & bill-payers pass-through to employers, landlords, & utility company shareholders. Whether economic incidence is progressive or regressive matters.

There are very few Labour MPs who worked in the city. That's typically not their professional or social circle. So the understanding of the people who hold our debt and why they make decisions is not good. But the reverse is also true of city folks understanding Labour MPs.
Simon French@Frencheconomics

The Pound is softer, yields are higher on the Josh Simons/ Burnham news. This is not trying to “constrain democratic choice” this is rational repricing of expectations for more Gilt issuance, and more inflation.
