I managed to stay on him and capture the split second moment when a runner’s foot connected with his face. In this role, I get the freedom to move around the stadium looking for unique angles—capturing everything from game action, to fan reactions, to wide crowd shots that tell the full story of the event. The 4pm kickoff gave us great natural light to work with. The sun cast defined shadows across the pitch which added an extra element to the photos.
