@HeathCl95678272 @emzanotti Every culture depicts Jesus as looking like themselves. European artists were no exceptions. Here is a recognizable Jesus from the 6th century from Sinai. He looks like a lot of later European portrayals. The blond, blue eyed Jesus is not even what most Western art portrays.

Just a reminder for Christian's celebrating Easter this week. Jesus looked like the guy in the first picture - not the second.

@EastonWyatt10 @AlecLace @Enheduanna22 All this proves is that there is no such thing as a “generation” that all believes the same thing. I could bring up GenX, Millennial and GenZ folks who say the same thing. We are all individuals.
English

@EastonWyatt10 @AlecLace @Enheduanna22 Us normal boomers have had to live with the kind of people who were at the no kings protests all our lives. Can’t stand them! But remember it was normal boomers who voted in Giuliani in the 1990s which began the rebirth of NYC - then Millennials and GenZ began voting commie!
English

@emebdh @AlecLace @Enheduanna22 Yes but boomers brainwashed my generation that the USA was a melting pot and introduced us to communist ideas from a young age. I remember them telling us it was inevitable. Capitalism always leads to socialism and then communism. Who were the people most at the no kings protests
English

@EastonWyatt10 @AlecLace @Enheduanna22 I was a baby when this was filmed. It was not the “boomers” who wrecked NYC - it was the Greatest and Silent generations. We came of age as it began to deteriorate. I remember the early 1960s Bronx vs 1970s Bronx- day and night.
English

@AlecLace @Enheduanna22 This shit makes me so fucking mad. This is all the boomers fault. Worst fucking generation to ever exist. They totally fucked everyone.
English

@JoeOleary660100 @alexathallow Oh yes! Ditch those awful “hymns” with banal lyrics and boring “music”!
English

@alexathallow Now we need a revolution in church music departments.

Pale. Like, didn’t set foot outside his entire 7 year residency pale.
He wants to date active women. He lives in Southern California. This is problematic.
I tell him he needs to get a tan before we take his photos.
He tells me he’s a doctor, and asks if I’ve heard of skin cancer.
I tell him he’s a ghost, and ask if he wants a girlfriend.
He’s agreed to walk outside shirtless 10 minutes a day until his photoshoot 🙃

19th-century women were unhappy in their marriages.
20th-century women were unhappy in their marriages.
21st-century women are still unhappy in their marriages.
They even legalized same-sex marriage, and yet women are still unhappy in lesbian marriages
At this point, it stops being about men. It starts to look like women are simply unhappy and miserable beings no matter what they’re given. No matter how much they receive, they always seem to want more and more. It’s like trying to fill an empty void. You guys have a problem and its a you problem.
ً@wynrosei
This was a depressingly common theme in 19th-century art.
English

@DM_Vincenzo @MaryKenny4 Always loved his eyes looking at you! (Obviously)

@mamboitaliano__ I wear them and I like the way my legs look with them. And I’m an American. I see women with bare legs in cold weather looking miserable and think “if only there was something they could wear ON their legs 🤔 😁”
English

In the end, completely unintentionally and innocently, I sparked quite a debate about women’s socks
Turns out American women “don’t really wear them anymore”
That honestly surprised me, because in Europe we definitely do
Now okay, California, but in winter, don’t you get cold?

Mambo Italiano@mamboitaliano__
Ladies, a genuine question out of pure curiosity: Why does First Lady Melania Trump never, ever wear stockings, on any occasion, in any weather, with any outfit? Really, never, never, never Does anyone know the reason? 🇺🇸👠
English

@leagueofhilary @ScaryHobbit @kentbanishearl @MaverickDarby The story of the creation of Peter Pan is a fascinating one. Andrew Birkin’s book: “J.M. Barrie and the Lost Boys” is a great read.
English

@emebdh @ScaryHobbit @kentbanishearl @MaverickDarby And fun fact, the play was originally going to double *Mrs.* Darling's actress as Hook - then it was changed to Mr. Darling. All sorts of psychology going on.
English

One of the most striking scenes in Peter Pan is the parents leaving the young kids at home in bed while they go out

English

@lisa_mazing25 @lisa_maths @mamboitaliano__ I’m older and manage to wear stockings despite aches and pains. Makes my legs look better. Heck my grandmother in her nineties managed to put on stockings! It’s not that difficult - but do as you like- of course 😁
English

@emebdh @lisa_maths @mamboitaliano__ Because we choose to accept our age and imperfect legs. Also- Stockings are a challenge to pull on if you’re young and in great shape. Imagine being older with aches and pains and inflexibility. Cheers.
English

@mrsdave11 @mamboitaliano__ My legs are white and pinky splotchy and I miss the days when nylons were a thing.
English

@lisa_maths @mamboitaliano__ Older women especially should wear stockings. You see so many women with mottled skin who would look a hundred times better in stockings. But they won’t admit it to themselves.
English

@mamboitaliano__ Because women here in the US stopped wearing stockings in the 90s and never went back.
English

@juansondeluxe @plzbepatient I’m a boomer and in 2008 I was 52 - hardly ready to retire. The youngest boomers were 44. We weren’t all born in 1946.
English

@plzbepatient Millennials never had a “passing of the torch” moment because a gorillion boomers who were supposed to retire kept working after the 2008 recession, and they’ve kept a literal death grip on political power to boot.
English

Millennials (now nearing 40) have constructed this reality where positions of authority like cops can only be performed by people who are older than them. When they’re 70 they’ll be mad a 55 year old is arresting them
VacksceneGaming@VacksceneGaming
LOLOLOL What a fucking joke
English

@ScaryHobbit @kentbanishearl @MaverickDarby Traditionally the same actor played Mr. Darling and Captain Hook. Right from Gerald DuMaurier, the first to play the role(s).
English

@kentbanishearl @MaverickDarby That's where I feel like Hook is something like a dream version of the father.
English

@meershadaab @IndiaExplained He says the man was middle aged, not elderly. And if one has paid for an aisle seat then one wants an aisle seat. Some of us prefer this seat because we need to use the restroom more than once and don’t want to inconvenience seat mates.
English

@IndiaExplained This used to be the norm on trains, and it’s a shame to see that spirit of helping each other disappearing. Sometimes it’s worth giving up a "preferred" seat just to be kind to an elder or a family. Kindness > Aisle seat.
