Trailblazing? In what way? Kat Abughazaleh literally moved to Illinois in 2024 and declared her candidacy the following year. It was an insult to voters. Democrats cannot be like MAGA and nominate these fringe people. #IL09

.@KatAbughazaleh just narrowly lost the #IL09 primary. This loss takes nothing away from the trailblazing campaign Kat ran that put the people at the center of every part of this race. This was still a MASSIVE loss for AIPAC, who spent over $7 million to come in 3rd place.

The biggest mistake Kat the Karpetbagger made was not doing one of her slick little videos to address her carpetbagging.
It didn’t matter who she was or what she stood for. You’re not going to helicopter into a district that you have precisely zero connection to a year before an election and expect to win. At the very least a thin gruel explanation like “my boyfriend moved here for work so I moved with him” gives her some relatability.
It was offensive to the district’s voters for her to think she could waltz in represent a people and a place she doesn’t know. For this reason I’m glad she lost.
