Whatever I think about Clinton’s behaviour, it will never cease to amaze me that the party that impeached him for lying about cheating on his wife (while presiding over a stable economy as he did all he could to broker world peace), didn’t impeach and now fetes Trump.

I know it’s become pretty cliche and cringey to talk about at this point but if you’re under like 25 I cannot stress enough how one time Obama wore a tan suit and people spent a week arguing over whether or not it was demeaning to the Oval Office and they were serious about it.

‘Darren Rigby, who sent hoax death threats to schools is jailed’ All girls’ schools were specifically targeted. Rigby ‘threatened to carry out deadly attacks supposedly in response to the treatment of ‘transwomen’’. None of this features in the coverage across outlets, despite the evidence emerging in email evidence and in court, neither does it feature in the Merseyside Police report. ‘I’m going to kill every girl and woman staff member I come across’ ‘I'm going to shoot and stab all your girls’ It’s a crime of extreme misogyny in the cause of ‘fighting trans oppression’ but any mention of ‘trans’ has been erased by the police, PA and all news outlets. In addition the BBC report hides the fact that it was a crime against women and girls. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/… southport.thelead.uk/p/hoax-attacke…

@dolljointsangel How can people think this, write it down and post it to the world? The inability to understand why feminism objects to rapists (a male crime) being placed in women’s prisons (a single sex space). And why? Because men rape! How can they not see the illogic?

72 years ago today, Diane Leather became the first woman to run a sub 5 minute mile. Sadly, she gets almost no recognition compared to Roger Bannister’s sub 4 minute mile. Women deserve much better then this. Women’s sporting achievements must be celebrated as much as the men’s.

@anon_opin Why the EU is a great place to live: phones there must have a changeable battery and universal charging cables. We can choose to use capitalism to pay for social democracy. Or you can live in America whose companies make this stuff for the Europeans but not you.

If you ever needed proof that capitalism is happy to destroy the world for a few quid, it's in the fact that you can't pop the back off your phone to replace the battery any more.

The safe space for women debate is very simple: if you object to women having safe spaces, you're a danger. If women saying no to men and asserting boundaries makes you angry, you're a danger. If you want to belittle or attack women for saying no, you're a danger. End of story.

Women have wasted 10 years fighting against misinterpreted law when they could’ve fought for more women’s rights. And trans activism has gained little for TIP in terms of acceptance by insisting TIM are women rather than helping society accept GNC & TI people just as they are 😔
J.K. Rowling@jk_rowling

The Supreme Court has ruled that under UK law, trans people never had the rights people like you insisted they had. You misrepresented the law and cheered on the removal of women’s rights. Trans people have lost nothing except the mistaken belief you fostered.

@AshRegan_ I’ve a friend who I wish would become an MP. She’s worked for her local council & in education + raised 3 great girls, one with a serious health condition. She‘s clever, kind, thoughtful. She has 0 desire to join the toxic political class Ash leaves behind & who can blame her?

I stood again out of a sense of duty , duty to the causes I believe in, particularly Scottish independence and women’s rights; duty to those who believed in me; and duty to my staff team. I knew standing as an independent candidate would be a significant challenge and did not expect victory. Nevertheless, I am deeply grateful to everyone who voted for me, supported me, donated to the campaign, and to my dedicated team who worked so hard throughout. Of course, I felt disappointed by the vote share. But alongside that, I also felt a sense of relief, a feeling I suspect will grow over the coming weeks as I reflect on this chapter of my life coming to a close. My commiserations to all those who stood and were not successful. It takes courage to put yourself forward for public office and open yourself to public judgement. And my warmest congratulations to those who were elected. Public office is both a privilege and a heavy responsibility. I hope all those elected will exercise good judgement, show integrity, and always put the interests of the country before party or ideology.

@KellyScaletta It is not just that what Trump, the DoJ, MSM, SCOTUS do is wrong, it is that they’re wholly hypocritical. America, institutionally, for all its faults, *believed* that it had checks & balances through ‘even handed’ branches of government. Trump’s DOJ and SCOTUS show that’s a lie

@KellyScaletta Yes. But so has all of the GOP, DoJ, MSM, SCOTUS who have dismantled our naive belief that the US had admirable core principles that offset bad individuals or a troubling history (I mean, which European country doesn’t have those?) From TN to Trump, America seems utterly immoral

And I will never not be enraged by those Americans who were obsessed with egg/gas prices under ’sleepy Joe’ who they vilified for not stopping expensive wars he didn’t start, who still support *their* guy as he naps in public while Iran surges and the world’s economy shudders.

This morning in Iran No Internet access for the 75th straight day More executions of young protestors after sham trials Inflation so high people can't afford to buy eggs Foreign militias patrolling streets to intimidate people Just another day in the Islamic Republic

My raging disappointment in my own naivete continues. Apparently left wing men only believed in feminism when it meant they could strangle women and put rapists in female prisons. Apparently massive grift, bombing civilians & gulags are only wrong when non-Republicans do them😡

And the parallels with gender activism are obvious. M keep telling W&G to fix the unfairness they practise, enable, encode. ‘Why don’t girls shut down their sports so confused boys don‘t take away their successes?’ they say, as though that doesn’t harm them again. Sick of this💩

100% this. Expecting people in N Korea or Russia or Iran or Turkey to bring down dictatorships with their bare hands against despotic tyrants psychopathically bloated with power, but Republicans (from McConnell down) just wave away democracy being dismantled before their eyes.🤢
Gandalv@Microinteracti1

Let’s be honest about what we’re watching here. 🇺🇸 330 million people, the country that put men on the moon, defeated the Nazis is now sitting on its sofa watching its president post crayon drawings of Venezuela with an American flag on it. At least the Russians who oppose Putin have a reasonable excuse not to speak up. Siberia is cold and windows are tall. At least North Koreans can point to the very real possibility of their entire extended family being relocated to a concrete box with no heating. These are legitimate barriers to civic engagement. What’s America’s excuse? You can vote. You can protest. You can run for office. Nobody is sending you to a gulag. The worst thing that happens is someone calls you a name on Truth Social. And yet, there you all sit, 330 million of you, watching a man who cannot spell “Venezuela” claim it as American territory, while nodding along like this is a completely normal thing for a head of state to do. No dictator in modern history has done more damage to the prestige of a country’s highest office than this man, and he’s done it entirely voluntarily, with access to the full resources of the American government, and a communications team that apparently just lets him post whatever falls out of his head before breakfast. Kim Jong-un, for all his considerable faults, has never once posted a map with a flag on it and called it foreign policy. Think about that. Gandalv / @Microinteracti1
