Low Masses are way better than High or Solemn Masses

Basically he ignored the underlying problem

When I think of how Pope Leo seems to be handling many of the Church crises that he inherited, I'm reminded of how he handled a different situation he was faced with as Chiclayo's bishop: priests cohabitating with women. Watch "Pope Leo's Peru" for more: youtube.com/watch?v=ziN1Qr…

One of the English Martyrs we remember today was St Margaret Clitherow. She wasn't a bishop or a great orator, she was a wife & a mother executed for harbouring priests. At her trial, she refused to plead, not in order to defy the court, but simply to protect others. A trial would have meant witnesses. Witnesses would have meant deaths. So instead she chose silence. At her execution, Protestant ministers prayed over her. Her response to them cuts through the centuries, especially given Sarah Mullally's recent visit to Rome:
“I will not pray with you, nor say Amen to your prayers.”
No anger. No spectacle. Just truth. She would not pretend a unity that did not exist, not even to save her life. Because this was never about “denominations.”
It was about whether the Church founded by Christ, handed on through the Apostles, could be set aside by the will of a king. As she was crushed to death, she spoke only the Holy Name:
“Jesu, Jesu, Jesu, have mercy upon me.”
That is the measure of her witness.

Even if you feel like the worst sinner in the world, go to Mass anyway. The Eucharist is not a reward for the perfect but food for the weary, strength for the weak, and medicine for the broken. Remember: every Saint has a past, and every sinner has a future. Grace transforms lives, and God’s mercy is greater than any sin. Amen 🙏.
