This is Ifeyinwa Peace Okwudu. The school administrator for Ezzy Nursing College, Enugu. She earlier suspended Joy Ezeugwu indefinitely for speaking against the rot in Uwani General Hospital, Enugu. She then arrested Joy Ezeugwu this morning and demanding N10 million for emotional and psychological damage. A student recently died in her school because of lack of care. 150 more students are in cue to be expelled.

I am again, how many BLACK SOUTH AFRICAN has a company or business in top 10 companies in SA in terms of revenue, employment rate and local impact?

That’s an enforcement problem and not a migrant problem, a migrants first instinct is survival in an entirely new environment, consideration of wage rate becomes his/her priority when stability has been attained. That foreigners are willing to work at a lower rate is not a Foreigner problem, it’s an enforcement issue. The major question is, are Black South Africans creating jobs that can employ other black south africans? Because if they are, I bet you they would care less about what the foreigner is earning from a white employer.

@emminomics1 @Joe__Bassey In South Africa it’s not just supply & demand,the National Minimum Wage Act makes it illegal to pay below the set wage. Employers don’t get to decide that. How exploitation mostly works,they’d rather make you work longer hours and they only pay for agreed hours only.

In a competitive market, there is almost no crime in terms of wage payment, the law of demand and supply must always come to play, if the supply of labour exceeds demand wage rate will definitely reduce. Nigeria is currently shit, corruption and institutional bastardisation but still Nigerians own over 80% of thriving companies and the other companies owned by foreigners becomes not too obvious, so if a foreigner decides to work below minimum wage and stay underemployed, it’s their business. The point is simple, you can’t list top 10 companies in SA in terms of revenue and Employment rate and would find up to 2 owned by a black South African. The labour market worldwide is always exploitative because business seek to maximise revenue and minimise cost, so long as supply far outweighs demand, employers will always determine wage rate.

The first time I was supposed to leave Nigeria on a fully funded msc scholarship with monthly stipends in Sweden, the last requirement was for my school’s registry to send an Academic copy of my transcript because I used student copy for my application, I was given 7days period, I pleased with the graduate school to give me 14days due to how things work here, they obliged, i made payments on my school portal, sent money to someone over there to print the docs and take to the registry, he did all of that, i begged the people in the office letting them know my situation, they extorted me, I didn’t mind, just get it done. I spent over 200k just to get a transcript I alrdy have a copy and probably should be in the system somewhere, 2days to the expiry i travelled down to Edo state myself because I was restless that it still hasn’t been sent, I still paid and begged this guys to please help me. At the end of the day they didn’t sent it, sent it 2days after the deadline I was given. That was how I missed that opportunity and was probably extended to someone else, I am sure they would think I forged my certificate and that’s why I couldn’t provide transcript despite given 14days. I hated the school and everybody in charge of the process. I still have beef till date.
