@matt_horncastle Mate I’m onboard with a lot of what you’re saying. But do you really see a difference? I see the same aims under blue as red. I literally see no difference between the two in terms of outcome. A Nat/Lab coalition wouldn’t surprise me in the least.

@johnreader @SparkNZ @onenzofficial @2degreesmobile Well we are comparable or bigger in population than 5-6 of those countries so I don’t see a reason for us to not get the same services. My guess is @SparkNZ @onenzofficial @2degreesmobile just aren’t as competitive or customer focussed as telcos in these other countries.

@benwardjr @_Goteem_ @Emilio2763 But they are already in an argument without the documents. I’d have a lot more sympathy for the cops dragging someone out of a car etc if they had already given a reasonable explanation for the stop.

Because if the person wants to debate the stop after finding out why they were stopped if the officer doesn’t have the documentation it’s hard to not engage in the debate till they get the documents. If they already have them it’s easy for them to say, “ok well that can be argued in court hold on and I’ll be right back,” and they can walk off to write the tickets/warmings and deny the person the ability to sit there and argue on the side of the road which is dangerous for both the officer and the person stopped.

@boomers_ass The Boeing with the institutional knowledge doesn’t seem to be the one running the KC46 program. Airbus seems to be doing just fine with the MRTT. Institutional knowledge only helps if it’s actually used.

I asked Grok to crunch some numbers for me about the A330 MRTT (aka KC-30A, KC-30, CC-330, or KC-330). It seems the number delivered is around 65. Of those, roughly 49 are equipped with the flying boom (Australia, Canada, France, MMF, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, and UAE). The rest, around 16, for Brazil (2) and the UK (14) are probe-and-drogue only. That's not even enough aircraft for a USAF Tanker Task Force. For comparison, the USAF has around 94 KC-46s and 396 KC-135s. Only two countries that have purchased the MRTT have over 200 boom receiver-capable aircraft; the rest are all well under 100. In comparison, the USAF has around 2,027 fighters, 142 bombers, 276 transports, and 51 secret squirrel types (RCs, WCs, etc.). Just to keep our pilots current and qualified, we're flying many more air refueling missions than everyone else combined. My point is twofold: (1) Although the A330 MRTT sounds like a good jet, it's not quite well seasoned just yet. And (2) we do more aerial refueling than anybody, and Boeing has helped get us there. They may be down at the moment, but they still have more institutional knowledge than anybody else in the world, including Airbus.
