@annie_shirazi I find the guy a bit cringe but why can't he ask such such question since half the questions in journalism are related to ethics and morality of once's actions and their effect on society. Why cant that applied be to a woman spreading vulgarity through her social media platform?

Happen to know of mister Rehan Tariq from my debating days in Lahore. He was a very good declamation speaker, but he should really get out of the typical mindset Punjab University was known for at that time. Who is he to question her why she is dancing?!

@Taimur_Laal Do you think regional cultural and geographical differances also contribute to this? It's not like these differances in development suddenly arose after Pakistan came into being and these backward areas were considered Eutopias pre Pakistan.

At a party with Indian Punjabis, an older gentleman who is really drunk starts giving details about all his grandchildren. Another one is on the way, he says. ‘God is great, Bhagwan is great…’, then somewhere through his drunk fog he realizes we may be Muslim, ‘Khuda bhee’. A Pakistani (certainly Punjabi) Muslim would never have that sort of sensitivity, i think involuntarily.

Even though the regions of the Indus transitioned to Islam early on, the vocabulary of Panjabi—especially Western Panjabi—still preserves tadbhavas that align more closely with Sanskrit than those in more eastern languages like Hindi. - The Sanskrit word for "bird" is pakṣín; in Panjabi, it's pakkhi (compare with Parinda or Panchi in Hindi) - Sanskrit gácchati ("go") becomes gacch in Panjabi (compare with jaana in Hindi) - putrá is puttar in Panjabi (compare with beta/poot in Hindi) - khaṇḍaka ("sword") is khanda in Panjabi - rakta becomes ratt in Panjabi which means "blood", while Hindi uses Khoon - "lion" in Sanskrit, siṁhá, becomes sheenh in Panjabi The list goes on.

@sabahbanomalik They aren't "Pakistanis" of afghan descent. That's the whole reason they are being deported. It's the same with other countries. It's a bit sentimental but nothing out of the ordinary.

If you support the mass deportation of people of Afghan descent who have been living here for decades, who have been born here, who are PAKISTANIS OF AFGHAN DESCENT LITERALLY AFGHAN-PAKISTANIS - you are an embarrassment and a joke and shouldn’t cry when you don’t get visas

Panjabi resistance to the British: 'Rabid feeling' against the British was reported. Post-1857 rebellion mainly planned & organized by Rai Kharral the British saw Muslim Panjabis as apathetic/hostile to their rule. Chief Justice Norman of Calcutta was knifed by a Panjabi Muslim.

The Awán tribe occupies a strip of country stretching from Mahárájke in Zafarwál, due west, into Gujrát. They are practically all Muhammadans and agriculturists, they consult Brahmin purohits. They have good physique, are indolent and rather vindictive.
