@PaulTassi @Forbes I’m worried that “experimental” means half baked like so many examples bungie has given us in Destiny. It may be a good mode 2-3 seasons from now but if it’s not good on release people will shit on the game even more

Do you know how crazy it is, to like a game for 2 months, praise it and enjoy it, then beat the game and see a name of a person you don’t like in it and all a sudden it’s bad game and you go and leave negative reviews on it?

I couldn't confirm that reported 70% Steam number exactly before, but now I can say that Marathon has roughly 2:1 Steam v console players at any given time, so pretty close

@jeem419 @Forcer69 I had 3 versions of sins of the past. DP is ass man. Along with its raid feats. Just more portal ass shit infecting the game. I had more interest in adept loot than this garbage. Atleast with adepts wasnt 3-4 levels of useless shit

@Rijul88 D3 is such a gamble. In that it might be too little too late. I want D3, I've said we needed for years, before saying it was cool. But now we have what 400 people on D2? It took Bungie what 8 years and 250 Mil to make Marathon, and let's be real, there's not a lot in the box.

Marathon discourse is funny. People would rather see the game shut down than change. Here's the reality: Marathon has a 250+ Mil dev bill, it has to become profitable. AND it has to show Sony its worth a post-GTA6 reinvestment.

@CtrlAltDelrith Thing is they labeled it an “experimental” pve mode. So sure it will draw in players for a bit but most bungie things are usually best left to cook for a while. So those people who do come will get some half baked mode that will just get more complaints and I told you so’s

I don't think I've ever seen a game start to change its core identity faster lol People can't even argue now if Bungie screwed up making an insanely hardcore PVP focused game because Bungie themselves are admitting they screwed up by shifting to PVE modes in Marathon after explicitly saying it wasn't that type of game. I totally understand that there's people who genuinely enjoy Marathon's PVP and core loop, that's awesome for you. I appreciate that. I'm referring more so that most of Bungie's entire dedicated fanbase is PVE oriented and were begging/telling Bungie for years with Marathon that it wouldn't appeal to them. Bungie, of course, didn't listen Now that the numbers are visible they're like "oh shit turns out people know what they like" Man I wish I could burn hundreds of millions of dollars and years of development to learn something people told me before I started. Learnin' something that I already had the data to see. I want the best for Bungie but man there's not enough people making decisions getting fired. You should hear how upset some of the developers internally are about leadership decisions. It's rough dude. Homies/devs who follow me; sorry you've got brick wall bosses.

Marathon will have a PvE-only experimental mode in season 2, plus a PvP-"lite" mode Honestly faster than I thought it would happen

@PaulTassi I’d be willing to atleast try it with pve mode but ultimately the characters just do not appeal to me whatsoever and there’s really no customization to change that.

If Marathon adds pure PvE and PvP modes I 100% guarantee they will be far more popular than what the actual game is supposed to be
