Today at the Integrated Polytechnic Regional College (IPRC) Kigali, new programs in aviation, airport management, and equipment management were officially launched. These programs are expected to help address the growing demand for skilled professionals as Rwanda continues positioning itself as a regional hub for air transport and investment, including major projects such as the new Kigali International Airport in Bugesera District. The launch event was presided over by the State Minister in the Ministry of Education, Claudette Irere, alongside partners, students, and other stakeholders. #MamaUrwagasaboTV

Today, the Minister of State for Education, @ClaudetteIrere, joined officials from key industry partners RwandAir, Rwanda Airports Company, and Akagera Aviation to launch the Airline & Airport Management and Logistics & Supply Chain Management programmes at @Kigali_College. These programmes aim to equip students with practical, industry-relevant skills, aligned with Rwanda’s ambition to become a regional hub for air transport, tourism, and logistics. The event also marked the inauguration of a modern Airport Simulator Workshop and Smart Classroom, further strengthening hands-on training and real-world learning.

Developed in partnership with the @WorldBank through the Priority Skills for Growth and Youth Empowerment Project, the programmes are a timely response to equip learners with the practical, job-ready skills needed to thrive in Rwanda’s expanding aviation and logistics sectors. A key highlight of the event was the unveiling of a first-of-its-kind Airport Simulator Workshop and Smart Classroom. With enrolment expected to grow, the programmes are set to train hundreds of students and upskill professionals annually. The launch brought together government officials, development partners, industry representatives, and students, who toured the facilities and observed live training demonstrations.

Under the Higher Education Pedagogy for Teacher Education (HEP-TED) Project, senior leaders from @RwandaPolytec held an engaging discussion with academic leaders and experts in quality management and pedagogical leadership from Tampere University and Tampere University of Applied Sciences. The exchange focused on the importance of pedagogical leadership and how it can strengthen students’ learning experiences and improve academic performance. The HEP-TED project continues to foster mutually beneficial collaboration between Rwandan and Finnish universities, promoting knowledge sharing and cross-institutional learning in key areas such as pedagogy, quality assurance, and higher education management.

Today, @RwandaPolytec and Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences signed an agreement to establish a joint academic programme in engineering. The collaboration aims to create a study pathway connecting the Bachelor of Technology in Mechatronics Technology offered at @RwandaPolytec and the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Automation Engineering at @SeAMK. This partnership will give students access to shared expertise and new learning opportunities while strengthening collaboration with industry in #Rwanda and #Finland through training, applied research, and innovation. The agreement was signed during the Rwanda-Nordic and Baltic Business Forum.

Under the #MAV+ Project, funded by the @europeanunion and co-implemented with @expertisefrance, @RwandaPolytec welcomed a delegation from Universite de Lyon to discuss strategic areas of collaboration aimed at strengthening technical and academic programs, infrastructure, and institutional capacity at @RwandaPolytec. Through joint discussions and working sessions, the teams identified priority support needs for key programs, including Biomedical Equipment Technology and Biological and Chemical Process Engineering, Water and Sanitation and Logistics and Supply Chain Management. This collaboration will focus on 📚Curriculum review and development 🧑‍🔬 Laboratory equipment and infrastructure needs assessment aligned with the new curricula 👩‍💻Strengthening research and innovation for staff and student capstone projects 🧑‍🔧Lecturer mobility opportunities The project will contribute to advancing the #Rwandan Bio-Pharma industry.

Meet Yvan Sibomana, a Mining Engineering graduate from RP-Kigali College and currently working as a Mine Planner at Rutongo Mines. Yvan shares that the knowledge and technical skills he gained at the College especially the mining software and analytical tools he studied are the foundation of his daily work. Earlier this morning, Rwanda Polytechnic (RP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with @airtelrw, a licensed telecommunications and digital services provider in Rwanda. The MoU establishes a framework for collaboration under the Airtel FuturePath Program, an AI-driven initiative focused on digital skills, mentorship, and career readiness. The partnership will: ✳️Create a structured platform to enhance AI literacy ✳️Strengthen digital competencies ✳️Promote industry mentorship ✳️Improve student employability ✳️Support innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation, aligning with Rwanda’s Vision 2050 and the National Digital Talent Strategy.

Today, @Karakye_Charles, the Permanent Secretary @Rwanda_Edu, chaired the inaugural Steering Committee meeting for the Higher Technical Education for Employment and Entrepreneurship (H3E) Project, bringing together key partners to set a strong foundation for the project's implementation. The H3E Project is a five-year initiative implemented through @RwandaPolytec in partnership with @KOICA_Rwanda, with a total budget of USD 16 million. It seeks to strengthen Rwanda’s higher technical system by ensuring graduates leave with practical skills, advanced technical expertise, and an entrepreneurial mindset aligned with the needs of Rwanda's priority economic sectors. During the meeting, the Steering Committee members reaffirmed their shared commitment to close collaboration, strong oversight, and fast-tracked implementation, so that H3E Project achieves its desired outcomes for students, institutions and the wider economy.
