Ring paid somewhere between $8 and $10 million for a 30-second Super Bowl spot to tell 120 million viewers that their cameras now scan neighborhoods using AI. The math is wild. Ring has roughly 20 million devices in American homes. Search Party is enabled by default. The opt-out rate on default settings in consumer tech is historically around 5%. So approximately 19 million cameras are now running AI pattern matching on anything that moves past your front door. Today the target is dogs. The same infrastructure already handles “Familiar Faces,” which builds biometric profiles of every person your camera sees, whether they know about it or not. Ring settled with the FTC for $5.8 million after employees had unrestricted access to customers’ bedroom and bathroom footage for years. They’re now partnered with Flock Safety, which routes footage to local law enforcement. ICE has accessed Flock data through local police departments acting as intermediaries. Senator Markey’s investigation found Ring’s privacy protections only apply to device owners. If you’re a neighbor, a delivery driver, a passerby, you have no rights and no recourse. This tells you everything about Amazon’s actual product. The customer paid for the camera. The customer pays the electricity. The customer pays the $3.99/month subscription. And Amazon gets a surveillance grid that would cost tens of billions to build from scratch, with an AI layer activated by default, and a law enforcement pipeline already connected. They wrapped all of that in a lost puppy commercial because that’s the only version of this story anyone would willingly opt into.
Le'Veon Bell@LeVeonBell

if you’re not ripping your ‘Ring’ camera off your house right now and dropping the whole thing into a pot of boiling water what are you doing?

Minnesotans, we’ve been through a lot. And I believe this moment calls for grit, resilience, and faith in each other. I believe we must stand up for what’s right. And fix what’s wrong. Today, I’m announcing my candidacy for Governor.

Kids, I understand that raw dogging to you is slang for just "doing something without distractions or preparation" but please understand that's not how it's utilized for anyone over 30 and especially not to use it in professional conversations

Brooklyn Park Police Chief Mark Bruley: "The last 2 weeks we as a law enforcement community have been receiving endless complaints about civil rights violations in our streets from US citizens. What we're hearing is they're being stopped in traffic stops or on the street with no cause and being demanded to show paperwork to determine if they are here legally. We started hearing from our police officers the same complaints as they fell victim to this while off duty. Every one of these individuals is a person of color ... it has to stop"

The first year of the Trump administration has set us back. Tariffs are increasing costs by $1,700 a year. ICE is making us less safe. The President is more focused on Greenland & his ballroom than helping Americans. We need to lower costs and end the chaos & corruption.

Democrats have been willing to negotiate. We’ve offered compromises to extend the health care tax credits so millions do not see their insurance premiums double. Every time, congressional Republicans have turned us down and refused to stand up for their own constituents.

Turns out that people don't like politicians that focus on building gilded ballrooms and tax cuts for the wealthy rather than lowering their costs. Democrats have real solutions and are ready to compete and win everywhere, especially in Wisconsin. @DLCC nytimes.com/2025/12/10/us/…

If they don’t get anything, but a promise to vote later then how do Senate Democrats explain the last 40 days to the people who have suffered? The people were supportive of Dems efforts to fight for something, but what happens if the fight ends with nothing for the people?

Now would be a good time for Dems to run wall-to-wall national ads about the fact that Republicans are destroying the nation's social safety net while enriching themselves...

Republicans are literally prepared to self immolate in front of the national electorate and Democrats are ripping the lighter out of their hands in exchange for a pinky promise of nothing. Humiliating doesn’t begin to cover it.

New - In major breakthrough, key Senate Ds signaling a willingness to vote to reopen government, per sources. Assuming they get provisions to reinstate fired federal workers. Emerging deal would not include extension of ACA subsidies but would guarantee a vote in Senate on issue

I continue to think "we'll starve kids and cancel air travel before the holidays unless you let us hike health care premiums" is a really stupid shutdown message from the Republicans.

Man just watched his wife become the first woman elected governor in the history of Virginia going back to the 1600s... ...predating this whole damn country... ...in FRONT of his THREE daughters. I see nothing but love & pride from a grown man here. 🤷🏾‍♂️
