@TheRedStripesSG The Diamondbacks series broke this team. Yes, they have won 90+ games each year since…but they lost something very significant in that NLCS…and they haven’t been able to get it back since.

@JackFritzWIP They’re a dumb team Jack. Boneheaded base running. Especially bad at throwing the ball to the correct base and allowing teams to advance bases. Their offense is boom or bust. When they aren’t hitting HRs they don’t score. They are the same team that the DBacks broke in 2022.

Overall, I feel more positive than negative on the Phils after the weekend. - The big three, really Schwarber and Bryce seem like they’re rounding into form— good to see Trea go yard. - Marsh looks great - Crawford better than expected - Today was annoying but not like that happens every game - Painter looked phenomenal I don’t think the bad RISP numbers are sustainable, Luzardo I expect to get better and the bullpen hasn’t been as advertised yet. All I believe will get better. I sorta just expect them to settle into the season and start rolling off series wins.

@JClarkNBCS This lineup stinks. Same old thing every year. Keeping running it back over and over again and expecting suddenly that they will start hitting. It’s over.

I have been briefed on an incident that occurred at Grand Central Station this morning. Reports indicate a man slashed three people on the platform with a machete. Officers shot the man when he did not drop the machete. He has since been pronounced dead. I’m grateful to the NYPD for their quick response and for preventing additional violence. The three victims were taken to the hospital and are thankfully in stable condition. The NYPD is conducting an internal investigation and will release body-worn camera footage, as it does in all incidents involving the discharge of an officer's firearm.

Yesterday, white supremacist Jake Lang organized a protest outside Gracie Mansion rooted in bigotry and racism. Such hate has no place in New York City. It is an affront to our city’s values and the unity that defines who we are. What followed was even more disturbing. Violence at a protest is never acceptable. The attempt to use an explosive device and hurt others is not only criminal, it is reprehensible and the antithesis of who we are. I want to thank the brave men and women of the NYPD who acted quickly to keep New Yorkers safe. Our officers ran toward danger without hesitation, demonstrating once again the courage and dedication it takes to protect this city every single day. My administration is closely monitoring the situation and I remain in close contact with our Police Commissioner.
