I really need to do a full breakdown of my finale performance because the amount of references, rewrites, demos, and creative back and forth with Leland, the choreo ideas with Jamal, and even the booth changes with Gabe was wild. Every detail really mattered and honestly they were all so receptive to my many iterations on it. Singing with Gabe and one of the writers was genuinely one of the most affirming creative moments I’ve ever had.
I definitely pulled from so much outside inspiration too and sending all of that to them helped me articulate the vision. The collaborators we had access to were kind of unreal, like very exceptional artists. When I think about it, it still feels unbelievable.
But like this was serious for me. I cared a lot about getting it right and I’m really proud of what we made. And yeah sure, the office motif isn’t “original” but it is personal. It is literally about breaking out of gray corporate life to chase the thing that actually makes me feel alive and creative and energized.
Nini Coco devoured this finale from start to finish, i’m so happy I didn’t stop claiming her as my winner since the beginning to end. Also made the Denver drag scene proud by keeping the top 2 or winner record joining Nina Yvie Willow WE LOVE YOU NINI‼️‼️❤️💖
