As we approach the end of the SOAP process, I want to give a little encouragement. Please remember that this is not a reflection of who you are. Many wonderful students go unmatched each year for reasons unknown. Your dreams may be delayed, yet they are not denied. #match2026

Don’t be a dork and try to steal the limelight from matching students by using the Match graphic or reposting your Match from prior years. It’s rude and makes you look silly. Give us our moment. Like damn, you already had your day.

I’m disappointed to announce that I did not match to neurological surgery. Delayed does not mean denied. I have faced adversity before. I refuse to let this define me. That said, I am seeking a US preliminary surgery position and will work tirelessly, if given the opportunity. ✊🏽

DELAYED, NOT DENIED!!!!! I AM GOING TO BE AN EMERGENCY MEDICINE PHYSICIAN!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭 This last year was quite literally the hardest year of my life. Opening that email a year ago and feeling my heart sink into the pit of my stomach was the worst feeling ever, compounded by the demoralizing process of having to go immediately compose myself enough to go through the SOAP. And, it was made even worse by the fact that, though I love my TY program and the growth I have had this year, I ultimately did not get an EM position in the SOAP, which was what I really wanted. But despite wanting to give up, I kept my nose to the grindstone and I persevered, working relentlessly to overcome the failure of my 2025 Match. Hard work pays off. Pardon the French, but I fucking did it y’all. I am quite literally shaking and crying in clinic. It was all worth it. Every single moment of effort was worth it. I am good enough, and I deserve to be an emergency medicine physician, which is the farthest thing imaginable from how I felt this time last year. 😭😭😭😭😭

Don’t lie to docs to get yearly CT scans & unnecessary radiation that also increase cancer risk. DO go to your yearly checkup, DO utilize the actual screenings we have for breast, colon, cervical, & lung cancers. DO advocate for yourself but be careful who you listen to on here🫶🏾
