I grabbed a slope-side table at Coppertop Bar in Breckenridge, scanned a drink menu, and spotted an IPA named “‘Bout Damn Time.”
After a 5-min wait, a server finally approached my table. I gave him a stern look and said, “‘Bout Damn Time!”
He paused, lowered his eyebrows, and said, “16 or 20 ounces?” 🍺 😂 🏔️ ⛷️ 🏂

@enthused @forestmanjohn What do you mean by "destroy the product"?

3 months ago, I quit my job to chase a dream: to build an affordable, convenient, plastic-free coffee maker.
Grateful for everyone who has reserved ❤️

@forestmanjohn Great. Add me to your prospect list. I’d certainly be interested in a machine w/ a thermal carafe. ☕️

@ofctimallen That’s encouraging! I’m 140 pages in. Began on Jan. 1 w/ a goal to read four pages/day to complete the Bible in ‘26. 🙏🏻

@MichaelKudrna @RickCanale You’re exactly right. There’s good business & there’s bad business. You want to attract & retain the good business. Fortunately, there’s a lot more good business out there than bad business. 🍕 💵

Know your worth. Know your numbers.
Customer came in. Didn't like the pricing. Complained. Walked out without buying.
Here's what I know:
I know my costs. I know what it takes to be consistent. I know what it costs to pay staff enough to live in a high-cost Chicagoland area.
Yeah, you can find cheaper pizza. I'm not competing with places that buy the cheapest ingredients and serve inconsistent product.
He could've ordered online and gotten a value package ....pizza plus free items. He didn't want it. Just wanted to complain about price.
Nothing I can do there
Some customers don't want value. They want cheap. Those ARE NOT the same thing.
If you chase every price sensitive customer, you'll race to the bottom. And costs only going up.... rent, electricity, labor, everything.
You can't please everyone. And you'll go broke trying.
Know your numbers. Stand on them.
