These laws are disgustingly harmful and outdated. There should be no reality where completely fictional material should be classified the same as if a real person was involved UNLESS a real person was actually referenced or it's so realistic of a depiction you could assume it's an actual child being harmed. How can anyone justify Lolicon leading people to harm children in the future, without also saying that engaging with certain horror movies is also indicative of your interest to physically harm other? We have been watching realistic enough depictions of people dying in movies with actual actors, but the conversation isn't the same because it's not "sexualized" for them. Why does being sexual in fiction mean you absolutely want to do the same thing in real life? I don't get it.

@MadamSavvy Its maybe worded slightly differently but it's exactly the same as the one that was run a couple days ago. The argument I've seen for blue pushers are to save children, blind people, and people who don't understand the question.

The red/blue post going around i feel like is a watered down version of the original. Idk why it was pushed by the botspam accounts. Anyone who picks blue belongs in a padded room. In the current state of the copypasta, there is no reason to pick blue. Instead, anyone who picks blue is looking to create a problem where none exists so they can feel good about their “sacrifice” later. Sound familiar, doesnt it?

@SaGa_NeilB the straw that broke the camels back for me was hearing a character say "merry christmas" being able to read a sign saying "merry christmas" (i can read katakana and hiragana) and seeing the subs say "happy holidays"

Also, I think you will continue to see localizers speak up on issues of good and poor localizations alike. Those of use acting in good faith and doing right by our franchises are not happy being collateral damage dealt by low quality vendors.

This youtube situation will get worse. Theyve been steadily abandoning independents for years as staff change at @youtube In fact id argue their higher ups are happy about this. Youtube staff never really got over Pewdiepie and the OGs who they couldnt control. Theyve been trying to get MSM on youtube. “Trusted creators” is who they favor. They tried it before actually, boosting tv guys. Covid was a great test for them. It showed even no on one will watch MSM online. But youtube wants that money and MSM is safer for the control game. Ai accelerates the flagging process. They have people give “feedback” on quality now, so even if something isnt ai made, someone can report it as such, and the ai will take care of it because machines are “trusting” in that sense. Youtube wants safe money. MSM offers that. Ai accelerates the move. Also youtube is following the trend of having outsiders come in and ruin the company. So. Thats not helping. Anyway, competition will explode as people move to solutions. Im iffy on the current roster of products available. I certainly dont want to play stupid games on if some fat breast milk enthusiast and drunkard could influence my video success chances. But i would also not like to suffer this either.

@MinModulation The shit that annoys me the most is changing names for no reason. A foreign sounding name is the easiest thing to accept at face value; it's just a name and doesn't need explanation. Pikachu became the most popular character in history without being renamed to Mr. Sparkmouse.

Careless translation is just kind of stupid. Early on in FFXIV, they had altered some characters personalities from Japanese, only to run into problems when they had become major characters later down the line in the first expansion, because they lacked the necessary foresight.
