From pure “Knicks-chances” perspective, tonight’s game is a big reason why before getting to Xs and Os. Hard to imagine Embiid/PG grinding through 7 more physical playoff games at high level if I’m being honest. I hope they do! But certainly goes into calculus.

SPURS’ STATEMENT STRETCH: The San Antonio Spurs have won 27 of their last 29 games, including last night’s victory over the LA Clippers, becoming the first team to post such a single-season run since the 2017-18 Houston Rockets. Riding their second 11-game winning streak since the start of February, the Spurs visit the Denver Nuggets on Saturday (3pm/et, Prime) with a chance to secure their first 60-win season in nine years. The Nuggets, winners of seven straight, are the last team to defeat the Spurs (March 12 in San Antonio).

We aren’t going to see Isaiah Stewart for a very long time. Repeater offender status will certainly come into play.

The Knicks trade for one of the most attainable reserve guards for them in Jose Alvarado. They had limited options in upgrading the bench within first apron trade restrictions. Dalen Terry for Alvarado works. They gain $1 million in apron space. They can sign a 15th player now.

People don’t want to hear it but KAT’s offense has been a far bigger relative problem for the Knicks than his defense this year. And I’d argue of late KAT’s been better on D than Josh. Feels like he should maybe start shooting open threes before speaking on other guys.
