After a certain age, your parents slowly become your children. They ask simple questions, repeat stories, and depend on your patience the way you once depended on theirs. Very few understand this role reversal. What looks like innocence or inconvenience is really time coming full circle. Don't correct them harshly. Don't rush them. Care for them the way they once protected you. This is not a burden. It is repayment.

I Saw Dr. Iggy’s announcement video this morning, someone in the top 0.1%, an Orthopaedic surgeon with a subspecialty in Spine, stepping away from being a Consultant just six months in after 15 years of training.
He’s choosing instead to focus fully on content creation and helping medical students find their path.
At first, I didn’t even know how to feel about it.
But the truth is, decisions like that weigh most on the person making them, and he seems completely at peace with his choice.
Still, it’s crazy to see. Even at that level, people can decide to take a completely different path.

Today, I operated on a little girl. She needed O-blood. We didn't have any, but her twin brother has O- blood. I explained to him that it was a matter of life and death. He sat quietly for a moment, and then said goodbye to his parents. I didn't think anything of it until after we took his blood and he asked, "So when will I die?" He thought he was giving his life for hers. Thankfully, they'll both be fine
