Many libraries are working to get more decodables into the hands of beg. readers & I understand that @torontolibrary is a big machine BUT today I watched too many families try to support their beginning readers with levelled books while these books were hidden away. #equity

If handwriting is food for the emerging reading brain with reading circuitry flickering to life when young readers print letters and then read them, then we need our youngest students develop the motor skills necessary for writing.
