@Drweloveu Are you for real? It is the cost that you put in an item that it will be valued at; if you say it costs $1, people will come round wanting to lay $0.5 for it. If you say it costs $10,000,000, you'll get a buyer for that same amount......... What do you think you are worth?

I’m a 42-year-old woman from Ibadan, married to a 30 year-old man from Enugu. We got married late last year. He lives in my house. He eats my food. He spends my money freely. Honestly, none of that has ever been my problem. I’m a self-made makeup artist and brand influencer, and money has never been the issue. The real challenge is his behavior. This man acts like a child emotionally. Whenever we have even a small disagreement, he goes silent. He keeps malice for days… sometimes weeks. No communication. No maturity. Just silence. Most times, I end up apologizing—even when I’m not the one at fault. There were times I bought him flowers just to make peace. Other times, I had to buy gifts before he would talk to me again. Once, after a serious argument, I bought him an iPhone just so he could come around. There was also a time we fought and he smashed my glass table in anger. I replaced it. And still, I was the one who apologized. I have always been the one begging, fixing, calming things down—whether I was wrong or not. What finally pushed me to seek advice is what happened two nights ago. We had a heated argument. In his anger, he smashed my phone, packed his bags, and walked out of the house. Since then, both of his phone numbers have been switched off. I’ve tried calling endlessly—nothing. I am tired. Tired of the childish reactions. Tired of apologizing all the time. Tired of paying emotionally, financially, and mentally just to keep peace. But the truth is… I love this man deeply. Please, I’m begging—don’t advise me to divorce him. I can’t go back to singlehood. I’ve seen enough hardship out there. I just want to know: What should I do? Please keep me anonymous.

I am heartbroken by the abduction of our daughters in Kebbi and the painful loss of Brigadier General Musa Uba and the brave soldiers who fell in Borno. Their families, and the families of the kidnapped schoolgirls, are in my prayers. As the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, I am depressed with the tragic death of our soldiers and officers on active duty. May God comfort the families of Brigadier General Musa Uba and other fallen heroes. I am also depressed that heartless terrorists have disrupted the education of innocent schoolgirls. I have directed the security agencies to act swiftly and bring the girls back to Kebbi State. I am fully apprised of the recent uptick in violent extremism in pockets across the country, and I have directed our security agencies to respond with urgency, clarity, and decisive action. Our forces need the full cooperation of every community. Sharing information can save lives and protect our children. May God comfort the bereaved families. Those who threaten the safety of our citizens will face the full weight of the Nigerian state.

@drpepple_ What we do is not a job, it's a vocation/a calling. This the sacrifices we've made and will continue to make. Take joy in the difference you've made in a multitude of lives: that is the real reward.

Those Early NHS Days… When I first started working in the NHS, I was hit with a cocktail of culture shock, clinical pressure, and a constant inner voice whispering “Am I really cut out for this?” Coming from Nigeria, starting off with Surgery, then A&E & Gyne, felt like being thrown into a fast-moving train. The systems were unfamiliar, the accents hard to catch, and every other sentence had an acronym I’d never heard before, BIBA, ATSP, MFFD, etc. There were many times I had to hide in toilets to watch YouTube videos of some procedures. Too many flowcharts, guidelines, forms to tick, and sometimes overzealous charge-nurses wahala. From prescribing antimicrobials as per Trust guidelines on EPMA to navigating sepsis pathways and figuring out how to bleep the Medical reg to reject constipation referral disguised as bowel obstruction, without sounding panicked — it all felt alien. But slowly, through late-night reading, kind seniors, and some trial and error, I found my rhythm. What seemed like strange clinical skills became second nature. The NHS became not just a workplace, but a training ground for growth, resilience, and world of possibilities. Looking back now, I smile. Those early stumbles? They were stepping stones. If you’re just starting off at a new work place, it might be messy & tough. Those uncertain days will be the foundation that will tech you resilience & humility. Nevertheless, you’ll gain some quiet confidence that only comes from pushing through. Forget about the pay, focus on building skills & confidence. You can do it!

That showing up—shaky and unsure—is still courage. Give us the will to finish what we start, And to become the version of ourselves you saw, when You first thought of us. Amen.

Dear God, Help us choose discipline over comfort and growth over what simply feels good in the moment. Strengthen our will when the road feels long, when fear tries to disguise itself as logic. Remind us that we don’t need to feel strong to be strong.

Let me be very clear about something. Anyone spouting this kind of hateful, victim-blaming crap is getting blocked. Disagreeing is one thing, but I’m incredibly pissed off about this and I’m not arguing with misogynistic jackasses who can’t manage basic manners.

Kanye West is a creep of the first water. I won’t repost the full pics of Bianca Censori because I will not help this abusive manipulator to further humiliate her. The look on her face tells the story clearly enough: she is blanked-out, disassociating; the lights are on, but no one is home. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least to learn that this was some kind of sick punishment for having displeased her lord and master in some way. As Kanye has lost control over his image, he has clearly responded by tightening his control of her. He was issuing instructions to her on the red carpet, including an order to drop the coat, turn around, and face the crowd. This is not the first time, or even the second, that West has made Censori expose herself like this: he posted a statement on Instagram saying that she would spend 2024 with “no pants” last January; that February she was photographed en route to a music studio in a clear raincoat with nothing underneath but a pair of boots. She did use her phone to shield her lower parts - an obvious indication that she was uncomfortable in the outfit. Censori was also photographed kneeling with her head in Kanye’s naked lap in Venice in the same month. This Grammys appearance is a clear escalation of West’s demands. This dress reveals far more than even the raincoat did, and instead of a night-time trip to a music studio, he has her walking the red carpet at the Grammys, with no way to really shield herself. This isn’t some act of coquetry. Her blank stare, body language, and unsmiling expression are disturbing; she may even have been drugged, although that is only speculation on my part. I do think it blindingly obvious that she is under some form of coercive control. Censori is not a model or an actress: she’s an architect, and friends say that this kind of behavior is out of character for her. Her fashion choices changed drastically after her 2022 marriage to West, and her family has apparently been worried about her for some time. I am so sick and tired of living in a world that lets rich men do whatever they want to women.
