Is this a biological male who thinks of himself (or presents to others) as a male-to-female transsexual, rather than thinking of himself as a woman? Answers that simply reiterate political talking points (e.g., “A man cannot become a woman”) will not be helpful to me. I want to find out the social, cognitive, and emotional hallmarks of individuals denoted as “trans-identified males.” What does a person labeled as a “trans-identified male” say about himself? How does this differ from what a male-to-female transsexual would say about himself?
